Appendix?

So I'm having an issue. For the last couple of weeks I've been getting this pain under my left hip bone.. kind of in the lower part of my abdomen on the left side. I can feel it under the bone and it comes and goes, sometimes really painful and other time's just a light little pain and I don't know why. I'm scared to go to the doctor, but some people I've talked to say it could be my ovaries or my appendix or even cramps due to the fact that I'm a long distance runnner (I run about 4-5 miles a day). My question is, have any of you had a similar problem like this? Is there any tips, advice that you can give me to make this better? If it gets really bad, than I will just take a trip to the doctor, but I would kind of like to avoid it considering I'm not really to fond of doctor's and needles etc. therefore any advice would be helpful. I thought if its the appendix the pain is on the right side. Ive has aches and pains on my left side. It could be a ovarian cyst, or endometriosis. I've has cysts before. Maybe you should go to your GYN.
