Veggie Hot Dogs

Does anyone have a reccomendation for a really good veggie hot dog? There are many different brands to choose from at the supermarket that I go to, that I am really confused. I would appreciate any help!

okay..Im not sure if you're vegan or veggie, so I'll offer you two types.

If you're veggie, go for the Morningstarfarms dogs.

If you're vegan,you may want to try the lightlife smart dogs. They're vegan. They also make one that's vegetarian, just look at the back of the package, and if its vegan you'll see a vegan symbol.

Do the SmartDogs have the same foul odor as the GimmeLean stuff I used the other night? Have you ever noticed this weird chemical-like odor to them?

I dont like gimmie lean products...at all. I bought the gimmie lean sausage for pizza..and I threw out the whole pizza. I stick to the crumbles in the bags. The hotdogs taste fine. No chemical taste.

also..a friend of mine says the Yves veggie dogs are pretty good too. They're vegan as well.

My favorite are the Yve's brand veggie dogs... they also have the tofu dogs... all Yve's are good.

Yves have several brands of veggie does, my favorite is the "Best Dog." But it does have traces of dairy products, in case you're a strict vegan.

Personally, I think SmartDogs smell horrible and have a disgusting texture. Just me, though. I like Tofurky sausages (http://www.tofurky.com/products/sausages.htm) -- the beer brats are very tasty on hot dog buns, and the Italian sausages are divine when sliced up and fried. :lick:
