Hello hamsters,

Just a 7 mile run for me today.

Hmm, so today all I did was unpack things for hours and get my room in order, so now my back hurts and I am tired. So no hamstering today. I'm hoping to get up early tomorrow for a run.

Have a great week everyone!

:hi: Hi Hamsters!

It's raining here today so I don't know if I'll get out to do any hamstering. Yesterday I did 25 miles on the bike. YTD = 1594 miles.

Just got back from karate and muay thai.
Danced home in the rain yelling at the sky and singing Wiggles' songs.
Will maybe do pushups and crunches before going to bed.

I also may hook up with a chick from training and start running in the mornings again. That'd be cool bananas.

^ 6mi run! :wayne:

I just got back from doing 10 minutes on the treadmill, chest, biceps, abs. and that thing where you open and close your legs with weights.. Someday I will figure out what that thing is called.

I got an exercise ball on Saturday so I have been messing around on that. I am still surprised about the difficulty of some of those exercises. I think I am going to stay off of it for a few days. It doesn't feel particularly nice on my shoulder, which was hurting even before I got the ball, especially when I roll off...

I rode my bike 6 miles home from town today, and it was one of the worst/strangest rides I have ever had. The last 1/4 mile I started feeling really funny. Sorta light headed and my stomach felt really full, which usually happens after I finish a work out. The closer home I got the dizzier I started feeling. I live on a hill and walk the last 1/8 of a mile anyways, but I have never had to stop and sit down, which I ended up doing twice. I didn't feel like puking, but that didn't feel like a bad idea either. It might have been an asthma thing. I used my inhalor when I got home, but don't really think it helped that much. I had to lay down for about half an hour and would feel extremely light headed when I stood up (my cat looked at me funny when I was crawling around). I don't think I went faster than usual, I think I was around 25-30 minutes I feel fine now and am going to try to eat something.

Eek, vegansurfer! I hope you don't get dizzy again! :( And the exercise balls are fun... and painful. :)

cyk -- ooh, i know what you're talking about it. I'll see if it has a label when i go to the gym tonight. good job!

NDvegan -- great running! have fun in your classes! :)

gnarly -- the wiggles??

cissy -- fabulous job

captain -- 7 miles! woo-hoo! :)

Okay... today I was about to go to the gym when my friend called and said he was going to school to go work on setting up his classroom, so I decided to go, too. My classroom is all clean and pretty! Yay! :) But that means that so far I haven't done any hamstering... Tonight I'll either go to the gym or I'll go to the studio for ballet. I haven't decided yet.

Hi guys, Other than crunches, squats, and lunges, I was a lazy Hamster this past weekend, the only Hamstering I did was a lot of walking around looking at properties. The Electric Co. is auctioning off some property on an awesome flowage so we went over to take a look. The weather was to cool to do any water stuff anyway. This has been a very chilly summer here. Friday night we had frost warnings up-north, brrrr we could see our breath after sundown and in the morning. I also think the fall colors will be early this year because there is already a good hint of color in the northern woods. Today I did a 3 mile power walk and tested my running legs a bit….things are looking better.

ND, thanks! Great run! 8 hours of packing! Ya, sounds like Hamstering to me.

Mskedi, sorry about the knee…I understand the frustration. :-/

Mountainvegan, lucky you! Way to go!

Good going clickman!!

Chrisy, awesome as usual! I will be back on the treadmill very soon, maybe we can work off each other a bit…up for a little challenge? :hamster:

IamJen, great workout! Nice you can bike again! :sunny:

FB, nice to see you, glad you’re getting out there!!!

Cissy, well, glad your Hamstering….that’s the important thing!

Jessikt, Ya, I would have to say that the mosh pit would be Hamstering. Fun Hamstering!

Gnarly, hehehehe…no don’t tempt the knee pain fairy…she’s a b**ch, sounds like you did real good, hope you can get some new shoes soon.

Roqeja, WfuDeac, and cyk, welcome to the Hamsters :hamster:

Anna, great run and bike ride!!! Great!

Captian, good luck on your condo!! And thanks for starting up the thread lately!

@Raeven, nice to see you again! Sorry you were sick! Sounds like you’re coming around!!!

Kat, Sounds like you had a nice vacation! I’d say that any time you are out doing something physical it counts as exercise. It’s up to you and your own personal plan as to whether it’s a workout or not.

Sky, great job!!! I’ll pm you soon.

Vegansurfer, that sounds scary…did you have enough liquids that day, being dehydrated can make you feel really funky? Hope it doesn’t happen again for you.

Go Hamsters!!! :vebo: :vebo:

slynny, I certainly challenged myself today:

TaeBo II: Get Ripped Advanced Workout 1 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005OM51/qid%3D1093311072/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-8016131-5832948) - 57 min

First run through. So far, I like it a lot. I did have to stop 2-3 times when I lost my place in the routine or needed to catch my breath briefly. I'm so glad I got the advanced workouts.

...and that thing where you open and close your legs with weights.. Someday I will figure out what that thing is called.

Leg adducters and abducters :) (maybe it's -or at the end? I dunno) The weight machines I use are labelled, and I think that's what you're talking about :)

annabanana, how many miles/hour do you run? I want to run a 10 K by this fall and can so far run about 4 miles easily at about 6.5 miles/hour, which is about 9.5 minutes per mile.

As far as exercise, today I just hit some serves on the courts for 30 minutes or so...Looking forward to playing some tennis or running tomorrow.

I also did 45 min free weights today.

cyk- :o Thanks!

vegansurfer- Yikes, that doesn't sound like fun at all. I hope that it doesn't happen again. Take care of yourself!

mskedi- Classes, fun... I'll try!

slynny- Glad your leg is feeling okay. Take it slow though!

anna, click- Great running!

Hi Hamsters!

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I'm trying to get my sorry self into shape and I started out with a 2 mile run and 30 minutes of yoga today.

Any good hints and tips on increasing the length of my runs?

Thanks!

Jes

Lifting yesterday. Running today and maybe tomorrow, probably around 3 miles or so each day with more lifting tomorrow.

NDvegan85 - I noticed in the end of last week's thread, you mentioned the cold in the mountains. FYI, although the mountains are cold and snowy in the winter, the cities near, but lower than the mountains, like Denver and SLC, are usually not that cold (except for the occassional snowstorm or cold snap). There are many days when the mountains are getting a lot of snow while Denver is sunny and in the 40s or 50s (which feels very comfortable in the dry air). (Don't tell anyone, though. ;) )
