When I was in beauty school I had one of the other girls bleach my hair and a lot of it broke off. I had to cut bangs witch dose not go well with my big fat head.
Oh weight one of my exs had me die my hair black. That was ugly. Then I tried to bleach it out it was fried and had to cut it all off. But the short cut looked really good.

Once when I was on vacation a bird pooped in my hair, it was very unpleasant.
i had seagull poop drop down across my hair and dripping down my face, from two different seagulls in the space of a few minutes. and this was at school, in fifth grade. i've been pooped on by seagulls other places, too, just not twice in a row, and i have pet birds, so i've got a lot of experience with bird poop in hair.
When I was little I used to get my dad to cut my hair, he'd just cut off however much I wanted, straight across. There was one time though, where he kept saying it was uneven so he'd cut off a little more. By the time he had finished my hair was about level with the middle of my ears.
my dad would always do that, and while he never did it that short, i'd get several inches more than just the trim i wanted. i learned to only let my mom trim my hair.

I have been vistiting my family this week and felt like the need to change my hair. So my mum tried to convience me to get this little girl down the road to dye it. I was like no way- it's either me or the hairdressor. (If it went wrong, I couldn't really complain to the girl) My hair is like ultra thick, long and a bit on the dry side. Anyway in the end we got a home highlighting kit and my mum did it for me. The highlighted bits were blue (when applying it) so you could see what you where doing. Mum put a bag over my hair to stop it getting messy.
So anyway the highlights had no effect at the back. At the front it had worked pretty well. Except instead of highlights- it was patches. One side was almost completely bleached and the other had random dots. It was very light and didn't look natural at all. It just looked silly. I then found out I had a job interview.
I told my mum honestly, but nicely how I felt about my hair. Soon it was a hair emergency and she phoned one of her hairdressing friends. She gave some advice- but doesn't do dying. So in the end I went to a hair saloon and got it done professionaly. They tried to dye it back to my own colour as well as adding highlights.
I've had some nice comments- about my hair today- so I guess it's better- and I certainly feel happier about it,
Kat
PS- Also had sun in hair disastors- so should have learned about home bleaching.

the only hair disaster i can think of is when i first wanted to dye my hair red, and my cousin tried to do it. It turned really green, but I strutted with it.

I'm surprised I'm not bald. I think I've been through 8 hair colors this year alone.

Purple rocks!!!!
Just brought back the memory of my best friend attempting to dye her hair blue. She got dye all over my bathroom, all over the towels, all over my room, all over my bitchy flatmates bathmat. All over the sink. All over random places like my radiator. And her hair went green not blue. :stinkeye:

Two years ago I was watching "A Makeover Story" and this girl got her hair cut pretty short, and it looked really nice! I was suddenly inspired and went up to the closest hair salon (Which happened to be "First Choice Hair Cutters" :worried: ) and brought along a picture of the haircut that I wanted (It was like how Mandy Moore's hair was when it was short.. for that "How To Deal" movie.) So the lady looked at it, and started hacking away at my hair. It turned out wayy to short with way to many layers.
To make things worse, I decided I wanted some highlights in it, so I got my friend to do it, but she didn't use the coloring cap and just put it where she wanted. My hair turned out to have giant random blonde chunks in it, and being terribly cut. I fixed it up pretty well though, by dyeing it brown and straightening it very well. I'll think before acting next time!

:D But I've been waiting 48 years, so if there's any justice in this unjust world, I'll get it first!
Well...there's hope.
I got my hair cut this week Tuesday. I found it to be adequate, but not spectacular. When my friend Mick comes to pick me up this morning, first thing he says when I open the door: "You got your hair cut...looks nice." Mwah...un beso for my kind friend (who grew up with lots of sisters :D )

When I was in 5th grade, my mom was cutting my bangs (i just didn't know better!! she always cut them, and never straight. my bangs were weird anyway. they parted in the middle and cowlicked on boyh sides) and the phone rang so instead of STOPPING the scissoring or letting the phone ring a few times, she cuts up on a diagonal chopping my bangs off basically at my scalp. There was no fixing that one. She cut them all that length and I had to go to school like that. :\ I grew them out and haven't had bangs since.
Two times ago when I cut my hair it was almost down to my butt, and the hairdresser at Supercuts (okay, i WILL NOT pay $50 to have someone cut my long, fine, pin straight hair) was saying how nice and soft and shiney my hair was and asked what shampoo I was using, which at the time was a kids shampoo and then she got kinda nasty and started lecturing me about how I was ruining my hair (that she just complimented) and how i had to use whatever she was trying to sell and she cut off about 10 inches when I asked for 2. :-o At this point in my life though, I don't get too upset over these things. It grew back.

I colored my hair yesterday. Got what was labeled as auburn chestnut. I wanted a little hint of red on deep brown..nothing major. Well, I had blondish brown highlights in my hair. The die made those a brighter red than I would have wanted..actually it's got a slight reddish purple tint. The upside is that it's not permanent..washes out in 28 days. Whew! I think I'll go back to the ghetto dye..KoolAid (just kidding).

 From candles? That's scary.
I just remembered another one -- when I was in junior high my hair was really long, long enough that I could sit on it. Usually I wore it in a braid or ponytail but one day I had it down, and as I got on the schoolbus it got caught in a small electric fan that the bus driver had clipped to the dashboard. My head was jerked almost to the fan itself before the fan stopped, clogged with a hank of my hair. The bus driver had to use a pocket knife to cut me loose. :(

Last December one of my friends asked to use me as a hair model. He had been working at a high-class hair salon but needed hair models and his boss's approval before he could move to the better salon location.
He told me right off the bat that I was going to be his creative. I was okay with that. My hair grows quite fast so I told him to do whatever he needed to do- thinking that it would come out funky and awsome.
I walked out of there with Joan Jett hair (except for the fact that it was to my shoulders in some spots. It was chopped and shredded to pieces). It was ****ing NUTS. He had wax and hairspray in it so it was standing about 6 inches off of my head.
In the end, I ended up being the only of his models that 'passed' so he didn't get to move to the better salon. I paraded around with that haircut until it grew out enough to have it cut to look different- about 4 months. During some point in that 4 months I had somebody approach me on the street to ask if they knew where I could find some 'yay' (cocaine).
lol
I guess I looked like a coke head with that haircut? :worried:

My hair was long, thick, glossy, shiny, and down to about the middle of my back. One day when I wasn't feeling particularly festive, I decided maybe a good haircut would make me feel better, so I went down to the Salon where my Mom goes and asked them to cut it to my shoulders, straight across. Instead, the lady cuts it to my ears, and gives me loads and loads of funky layers. When I went home and was hairless, my Mom hated it and I felt like crying. Later that night, already feeling unstable, I go the CVS and buy JET BLACK Feria and put that in my hair- so here I am, going from long, brown, straight hair to short, choppy, and jet black. Gosh did that suck.

stellar- Lol, I had to go to Yahoo and look at a picture of Joan Jett. She's had a lot of funky hairstyles over the years, but I'm assuming you're referring to the longer,
layer-y shag.....:)

I have always been a tomboy, and in elementary school, taking care of hair was just not on the agenda. The summer before 4th grade I decided to cut my middle of the back hair. I have this picture of what I wanted, short (above the ear short) with layery type things. My mom tried to explain to the hair dresser what I wanted, and well, messed up. I walked out with a bowl cut. When school started a few weeks later people didn't even recognize me. After getting called a boy 56 times to my face I have a morbid fear of short hair. I didn't cut my hair for three years. Not even little trims. I think there are about 5 pictures of me during that period. My hair has never been shorter then my shoulders since then. Although my hair is a pain in the ass (I have about 3 times the amount of hair that should be legal. It is extremely thick) it comes down past the middle of my back, and I won't let more then half and inch be cut at a time.
