View Full Version : My faith in the BBQ burgers has been restored

I miss the taste of a good BBQ burger. And I'm sorry, but all the veggie burgers I've tried just make me want a slab of beef on the grill. Still, I pressed on, knowing that somewhere out there, a veggie burger worthy of my grill was out there.

And today, I found it.

Amy's Texas burger    My bf swore it was better then any burger - including meat ones - that he's ever tasted (and he loves his beef burgers). J (the meat kid) loved it, M (the soy kid) also liked it, and the dog thought it was pretty good, too.

welcome to the world of amy's fans, krista. I like those as well, along with the tofu scramble pocket, and breakfast burrito. *drools*

Those are my absolute favorites! They're especially good topped with carmelized onions. :smitten:

I don't think I've ever seen Amy's where I live... All I can ever find is Boca or Gardenburger.

I was never fan of hamburgers, and the only time I ever have a soyburger is at restaurants where it's the only option.

...but your post intrigues me. I'll go see if we have them at work. :D

Does the Texas one have eggs or cheese in it? I think I used to eat the Texas burger, but I think it might have actually been the Californian.

The Texas one is vegan. I just picked it up! :D

I'm an Amy's fan too. Texas and California are vegan.

Out of context that all sounds really weird.

i haven't had any in a while, but they may be my favorite store-bought veggie/soy burger by taste.

I had them. They were pretty good. Once I added lettuce, tomato, and lots of condiments, plus two slices of hearty bread, I couldn't taste them too much however!

That's the problem with frozen food. The portions are always terrible. Why can't they be 1.5 times as thick? :lick:

Hmmm, next time I run out of veggie burgers, I'll have to check them out. :)

They are perfect size for me :)

See, you tried to make it healthy. No my friend, use processed white hamburger buns and ketchup, maybe some mustard and onions fried in grease. Now we're talkin' :D

Haha, maybe that's it!

I don't think twice about eating a whole pint of soy ice cream, but I just can't get myself to eat white bread. :p
