Today a few of us from my running club ran a half marathon in San Diego, CA

There was perfect overcast weather and the first 4 miles or so was all down hill. The last two miles were uphill. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to sprint those last two miles so my legs are a bit sore now. It was a really nice half though. :)

My parents and I went to a fish count of Friday and saturday. Friday was the training so we swam around identifying fish and such. I think we only swam 1/2 mile but were in the water from 3 until 5.
Satuday my mom and I were on a 1.4 mile stretch. It took us from 11 until 2. It was exhausting but fun. We were on the healthiest and cleanest river in California and boy is it beautiful. I was the diver on my team, so I had to dive down and check every rock, ledge and crevice. Diving while in a 4 mm wetsuit sure gives the legs a workout, even with fins.

Captain Swab-Boy do I envy you for being able to do a half marathon, let alone sprint that last 2 miles.

No 'official' hamstering today, but I did some rigorous cleaning (involving climbing many flights of stairs) and threw tennis balls for the dogs for about an hour. I also played soccer with my dog for about 10 minutes, but when the dog really wants that soccer ball, it gets intense  So that's my report for today, just a lot of fun moving!

CaptainSwab - Awesome job on the half marathon! Those last two miles must have been tough!

vegansurfer - Great swimming! I bet it was even more fun because you had a mission while swimming.

Go Hamsters! :hamster:

16.5 mile bike ride yesterday and the same today. I also went for a swim today but only did a few laps...brrr it was to cold. Felt good to do something.

Yay captain!!!! Way to go on the half!!! Sounds like you ran it strong!! :vebo:

vegansurfer, what is a fish count? Sounds like great Hamstering :)

annabanana, sometimes the best Hamstering is just having fun! :nana:

I don't think I've posted since Thursday. :worried: I have been hamstering, though!

Friday-
walking, 40 minutes
treadmill running intervals, 1/2 hour
stretching, 10 minutes

Saturday-
walking, 40 minutes
stationery bike, 1/2 hour
stretching, 10 minutes

Today-
walking, 40 minutes
full body strength circuit, 1/2 hour
treadmill running intervals, 20 minutes
stretching, 10 minutes

Other than my walking, I just don't feel like doing much outside lately. It's been so nice out, so I don't understand. I just have no desire to go outside and do the stuff I normally like to do.

Wow... I'm in awe of you guys. I really need to get out and about more!

Ok so at about midnight here I decided I would do a little hamstering (for the first time ever! I'm no longer a hamster virgin!) Here's to you guys...

100 Jumping Jacks
50 Sit ups
50 Australian Pushups (;))
and about 15 minutes of crazy dancing/Celtic dance practice

I won't be leaving the state or country again for quite a while now, so it's about time I get back into a good routine...

I did go to the gym four times while I was in Kansas, though. :hamster: And I'll be starting up something tomorrow. Yay!

Go hamsters!!!!!!! :hamster: :vebo: :hamster:

I need to get a fitness regimine started pronto. Once tae kwon do starts up again this fall, I need to be in shape, other wise I'll collapse given my work load.

I'm thinking starting slowly...running 15 minutes a day, stretching, toning exercises and maybe an hour or so of blading on top of my typical walking to and fro everywhere and chores and whatnot.

Better get that laundry started now...

Not much for me today, the bike rides from the last two days have my legs a bit sore. Using different muscles I guess. I'll ride again tomorrow and hopefully by this weekend I'll be able to test my running legs.

Cissy, VeBoCon sounds like it was a blast! I wish I could have gone...and you even Hamstered there:)

Flower, I have to confess to feeling a bit the same this summer. Usually I am outdoors every second I can be...but this year I have been inside alot more than usual, partly because we didn't tent camp this summer, and I didn't want to go to the polluted beach. I have even neglected my gardens a bit...it's scaring me. I don't think the weather has been to great though, it's been cool and rainy.

catgurrl, welcome to the Hamsters!! :hamster: So, what are Australian push ups?

Yay, Mskedi is back to stay!!! :vebo:

Linzey, good for you, slow would be the best way to start back up...but just do your workouts regularly:)

catswym, that's fantastic!

way to go banana!!! :nana:

Today for me-

walking, 40 minutes
stationery bike, 1/2 hour
stretching, 10 minutes

Slynny- it helps to know I'm not alone in feeling that way. :) The polluted beach does put a big damper on things. I get so depressed thinking that it's within a minute's walk from my house, yet I have no desire to go there because of the pollution. :(

Eek! I walked for a couple hours today, but otherwise I've just been cleaning. I may get some upper body weights in before I go to bed, but I must clean out my refrigerator. I left a few things in there that I shouldn't have while I was traveling... ew.

Tomorrow I'm ditching dance to go to a They Might Be Giants concert, but I'll be back in the swing of things on Wednesday. :) :hamster:

A good day back at it for me too.

Biking: 16 miles-ish (still need to mapquest it and be sure)
Walking: 2 miles

It was nice to get back on and pedal. :)

Seems like it's been a good hamster week on this thread, and it's not even hardly Tuesday!

2 mile bike ride today. I guess the football team has officially invaded the track, so I have to find a new place to run. I think trying on wetsuits also counts as hamstering, or at least today it felt like it should cuz it was so hot in the dressing room.

A fish count is when a group of people team up onto different sections of a river and each team forms a line going across the stream and swim while counting certain fish. I was on the Smith River in Del Norte County (county below Oregon border). It is great hamstering, especially being the team diver.

Biked at least 26.5 miles last night. It started to rain on my way back, and my fork was wet enough so that my computers sensor slipped a little bit and had moved just enough so that it stopped recording. So, I probably was right around 30 miles.

Hi! :hi:

Great ride, Clickman! I hate when my bike computer messes up. I used to have one that would just shut down in the middle of my ride when I wouldn't know it for several miles. That would make me so mad.

I've been biking 6-20 miles a day, usually around 10 miles most days. YTD = 1502 miles.

I haven't been around as much because I've been studying. I took my finals yesterday and start a new cluster of courses in two weeks. I also got a new job.
