Gnarly, I wonder if there is some sort of strength exercise you could do for your (dodgy… hehehe I like that word) knees. O’ and I love your new avatar! Is that a kangaroo or a wallaby?

It's a kangaroo  I thought it fitting :D
You mean an exercise to improve the knees? Or just prevent extra damage? Either way would be good - I've had to give up on lunges and the like lately because they can't handle it, and my poor legs are being neglected. :(

And I was sorry to hear about your setback there...

10 mile run today :nana:

And I'll probably walk about 2 miles with the dogs.

Today means it's officially time for me to get off of my backside and get out and go pedal-crazy! I feel a good 7-8 miles' ride coming on later today.
Do you all feel icky if you don't get good exercise in pretty often?
It's been since Saturday since I really got any, and I can feel the difference today. Bleh- back at it Brandon. :)

 Excercise usually feels really good even through painful/boring times. Like if I take more than a day or two off I start to feel lazy and not so alert anymore. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment to excercise, so that's probably part of it!

Biked the 5 miles to work. I'm planning on doing the 2 or 5 mile loop in Central Park after work on the way home. We'll see how the day pans out.

Sorry to hear that, Slynny :(

Sore legs from the wall squats yesterday, so, I only ran two miles, and 110 crunches.

No incline today. I'm also sore from squats (and lunges) yesterday.

Slynny!! That's awful! :( I hope you feel back to normal soon!!!

Well... I took a brisk hour walk this morning, did some upper body weights and a few hundred sit-ups, which, considering I'm on vacation, isn't too bad. I also found out that the local gym only charges $5 for visitors, so my friend and I are going to go there either today or tomorrow and then every day after. It's definitely better than I'd planned....

Hope the hamstering goes well! :hamster:

Started my weekday trek. About 25 minutes of bicycling carrying 100 lbs. of boys in the carrier. :D

Today-

walking, 40 minutes
full body strength circuit, 1/2 hour
treadmill, running intervals, 1/2 hour
stretching, 10 minutes

Slynny- I didn't know that about Hwy 18. I wonder if it would have been faster to take that way instead of going on I-94. I hate going on 94. Traffic's so horrible.

Anyway, stay positive about things. You'll come through somehow. Just take care of yourself, though! :)

yesteday it looked like all the football teams in the state were practicing on the track (well, on the football field which surrounds the track) so I couldn't run.

today-I went surfing again. Unfortunately the waves were crappy (about 3 feet on the set wave. 2 feet normal ones). It was fun anyways. my mom came out with me. she just paddles around and can;t stand up, so it is rather fun to cruise past her. she gives me the evil eye. all the more motivating to keep on doing it.

I am going surfing again tomorrow. the waves look to be sorta picking up :nana:
Hopefully there won't be a football invasion on the track on thursday so I can run (I doubt I can get 3 rides to the beach in a row outta my mom). I'm going on a salmon count this weeked, so I will be swimming/diving 3 miles with my parents. extremely exhausting, so I am not planning on anything exerting for the other days.

Go hamsters! :hamster:

I had a long walk yesterday- not worked out how far it was- but must have been about 7 + miles. Was speed walking for about an hour and a half. Worked off a lot of my angry feelings. (I am being driven up the wall by my flatmates family)

My taekwondo instructor has the most silly injury. She is a black belt- but she injured her arm holepunching (paper). Apparently it really hurts! Weird injury,

Haven't done it yet, but I will be doing lower body weights, cardio for at least 30 minutes, and some much-needed stretchings. I will, I will, I will. :)

Today I did an hour of taekwondo. Getting a lot more stretchy and pushing myself a lot more than I was at first.

I also bough a skipping rope and a thigh trimmer. No promises that I will use them though!!!

Tonight?

Slynny- Aww, I'm sorry. Take care of yourself and get better soon.

Only ran two miles... Gonna take tomorrow off, my legs have just been getting worse.

went surfing again. I was only out for about an hour and a half though. The waves were small and choppy, and evidently surfing 2 days doesn;t make collarbones that won't heal feel any better.

I had unexpected surgery on my toe today to remove a big chunk of the nail, so no more hamstering from me for two weeks :(. This kills my chances of doing well in the 5K I was going to run.

Also, I've got a question if anyone knows the answer. I've been having a lot of trouble with my shins lately, and I've noticed as my IBS gets worse so do my bones. I have a pretty balanced diet, I probably don't get as much calcium as I need but I didn't as an omni either. Is there a correlation there or have I just been using them (my legs) too much?

Christy

brownie - I wonder if it has to do with absorption. If that is indeed what I've had bouts of since May, it seemed that everything ran right through me without being properly absorbed. Unless I was constipated.

brownie-- i would say the same thing as christy--often IBS creates/ goes along with absorption problems, so of course if you aren't getting enough nutrients you'll feel more tired and your body will be more run down. it probably just means at those times you'll need to rest more.

as for me: yesterday was 3mi walk and 60min power yoga.
today will be 4mi walk.
