I am really annoyed with brown spiders with long legs and little red spiders roaming around my bathtub almost twice a week. I have tried carrying the arachnids outside but then I later find them trying to get back in the house or I loose them before I can open my apartment door. Are there traps that don't kill them or ways to stop spiders from roaming around my apartment. Granted I do live in the basement but I feel bad having to kill them because I don't want to bathe with eight legged creatures!

I have huge brown spiders crawling around my room all the time, I just catch them in a glass and let them go outside. I don't think there are any ummm... humane bug catchers out there. My advice: hire someone to sit in your room at all times and have them catch the spiders for you.

I have read that most house spiders do not adapt well to living outside, so taking them outside may not be a good choice, if you're looking to keep the spider alive. Move it to a bathroom that you don't use.

kpickell: I'm always worried about that when I'm taking spiders outside. We have a big varandah so hopefully that's "indoors" enough for them to survive. I know there are heaps and heaps of spiders living on the outside of our backdoors.
