Interesting article in the Sunday Times today (UK) about Animal rights groups. Obviously condeming the violent acts that some seem to be associated with but what struck me as pervers was that the author (minette.marrin@sunday-times.co.uk) stressed twice that people matter more than animals.

To quote - 'There is something chilling about anybody who thinks that animals matter more. The nazi's for example, thought it acceptable to experiment freely on humans, yet banned all experiments on animals soon after they came to power. It's a well known trait of psychopaths that while they are vicious to humans they are often rather nice to animals.'

I'll be e-mailing her to put my point across. I agree with her for the majority of her article.

Animal rights groups who use terrorism both harm their opposites (obviously) but she doesn't state how it also harms legit animal rights groups. I think the fundamental question is whether or not you believe we as 'humans' have the right to use other species to help our selves. This stance will no doubt alter your perceptions of groups such as ALF et al.

Actually, it's the psychopaths who start out on animals, then move on to humans...
