Now, THIS is a good documentary. Pointed, but truthful. Much FOX"news" video is offered to contradict the "Fair and Balanced" drivel that Rupert and gang would have you believe. Memos from FOX"news" are presented as well.

There is much that is not new to folks involved in fair media actions. (Jeremy Glick, the Franken/O'Reilly drama, etc.)

However, there are several polls presented showing the distortion of reality among regular FOX"news" viewers. e.g. 60-someodd percent believing that Iraq and AlQaeda are in cahoots, compared to around 15 percent of viewers of all news programs.

There are thoughtful analyses of the caliber and quantity (5:1 conservatives) of both liberal and conservative guests that appear on FOX"news" programs.

Examples are given of FOX"news"' tendency to:
*distort facts to their liking (e.g. "one is more likely to be killed in a homicide in California that for a soldier to die in Iraq").
*distort the newsworthiness of certain events (e.g. Reagan's birthday celebration at the CA library, where the "throngs of schoolchildren" = one 4th grade class)
*distort what guests actually said (e.g. "he came on here and said that Bush's father, George Bush Sr. killed his dad" - re: J. Glick, which he didn't say)
*attribute unproven "facts" to the sources "some" as in: "some say" "some believe"
*say incredibly derogatory and biased things on the air about the President/Kerry ("Kerry was scaring old people again" "213 days until Bush is reelected")

Good information is presented on just how far reaching the Murdoch empire is.

Regardless of your political leanings, this film presents solid evidence that FOX"news" is anything but "fair and balanced", and is rather, a lapdog of the GOP. No comparable criticisms can be made re the other major news networks. FOX is "journalism" at it's worst.
