Ok so i've been a veggie boardering on a week and a half with the conscious effort to go vegan. So i've been looking round for vegan chocolate and today I bought some by a company called Plamil (www.plamilfoods.co.uk). It was mint chocolate flavoured and it was absolutely gorgeous.
Had to go all the way to Holland and Barrett for it but I'll definately be buying this stuff again. :vebo:

That's my most favourite ever vegan chocolate ! Bliss bliss bliss
Rumour has it, though I can't find any yet, that they're making a ginger and chocolate bar now.

Plamil is owned by vegans too. I just tried the orange one, and it was great. No more Green and Black's for me!
I've seen Plamil chocolate in Tesco's and Sainsbury's too, in the free from section. (I'm assuming you're from the UK.)

Plamil had a stand at the mancheste rvegan festival. They also do cayenne chocolate, although I wouldn't giv ethat my personal recommendation.
However, I do give green & blacks maya gold my personal recommendation.

Yes the Plamil mint has to be the best vegan chocolate I've tried. Yum!

I've tried the cayenne chocolate bar, it is seriously weird and not for me- but I gave it to my osteopath to finish off and he was in ecstasy over it.

I kinda want to try this. Green and Blacks is pretty decent so if this is better it must be ok. That being said, I had the rapunzel chocolate with raw sugar and hated it.

I've found that a lot of the dark chocolate in the stores (where I live) don't contain any animal ingredients. :-) It's mostly the lighter ones that do.

I've had vegan chocolate baked goods (cakes, brownies..) but never an actual chocolate bar... I can't seem to find any where I live and I'm not allowed to buy things off the internet.

I love dark chocolate...And the darkest ones are almost always vegan. My favourites are Lindt's 85% and Côte d'Or's 86% cocoa .
(-now 99% cocoa (Lindt) is -imo- just horrible...I made my mother buy me some last time she went to France, and I was so disappointed when I tasted it..blech :p)

I love Plamil chocolate, and emailed them about the origin of their cocoa (since they don't have the fairtrade mark). Good news is that they get their cocoa from the same growers as those with the fairtrade mark. :) (I suspected as much. It costs quite a lot of money for companies to put the label on their products, I believe).
I get a bar of Plamil mint chocolate every week in my shopping, and have a little bit every day. :D

Does it exist at all ? What's the best brand ?

My sweet tooth kinda died awhile ago. I don't know any of the names of the vegan chocolates I get.
I had vegan fudge for the first time yesterday. There is this new store that opened up town that my friend I ventured into. We decided that we would remember that store.

I haven't been able to find Plamil at Whole Foods, which isn't to say they don't carry it. I simply haven't seen it yet. Still searching... (prefer not to order online)
