View Full Version : Those binging days....

You know those days when your body just can't take it anymore, and sends the message to your brain that it can't hold back anymore and you lunge towards your pantry? What do you eat on those days that you just can't stop yourself, despite a healthy diet that you wish to adhere to?
My binging days usually consist of:
an ultra-huge smoothie
tons of pieces of bread
chocolote ice cream pop
dairy ice cream :surprised
peanut butter :worried:
protein bars
Share some of your food on binging days.

i don't have binging days. you make it sound like everyone does. i eat unhealthy stuff even when i mean not to, but not anything that could be called a binge. if i eat excessive amounts of something, it's probably something non-filling and sugary.

Sorry if I made it sound like everyone does. I certainly didn't try to.

I have days where I just cannot stop eating, and it's not bc I'm hungry. I will eat luna bars, couscous, tortilla chips, nuts or whatever I have that is starchy and cruchy in the house. I find I binge on much healthier foods now than I did before I was veg when it would be icecream, chips, chocolate, cookies, etc.
I think right now I am going to go eat a tub of hummus (with carrots and pita bread)!

I've only binged three times (I'm very, very thankful I'm anorexic and not bulimic- no offense to bulimics), and when I did, it was on entire bags of mini candy bars. Gross. The feeling after I binged- and was unable to purge it up- was the worst feeling I have ever felt.

I've only binged once when I was anorexic. I ate alot of noodles, PB, bean burritos, bananas, pretzels, chips, chocolate, and rice. Basically alot of bad things..

I've binged two or three times in the past. My most recent binge was the worst though. I got barely any calories that day and at night I was watching my favorite show and all of a sudden I found myself eating 2 2 cup bowls of cereal w/ minimal soymilk for some reason, pretzels, spoon full of salsa, fruit galore, dry cereal, soycream, tea galore [not food, but I drank at least 7 or 8 8oz cups :worried:], PB and honey (I felt bad because it was not vegan, but for some reason my insanity overode my moral logic) sandwich on a rolled up slice of ww bread and hummus w/ tostitos. After I felt sooooo bad that I rolled up and passed out on my couch. My mum woke up next morning and was like...where did all out food go? I was so ashamed...so I took a huge run and went out and bought all the food back with my money.
Cheers.

I eat lots of raw food, so when I binge (like when I don't eat enough for dinnner or something), I usually eat grapes, peanut butter, raisons.. any dried fruit or fruit available like apples, banana's etc. Ya, I just eat this until my stomach is about to burst and then I stop. I guess it could be worse. :p

umm i don't consider it binging but sometimes i'll just have an inexplicable craving for something and will just sit and eat it til i'm either full or run out of whatever it is. usually something starchy, chips or crackers etc. sweets i usually only have small amounts of at a time, mainly because they hurt my teeth. but i almost always have some form of junkfood every day.

do you know why? some of my molars hurt when i eat chocolate or certain candy. that never happened to me before a couple of years ago.

Sweets are begininning to hurt my teeth too. :( I've had to cut back on the chocolate quite a bit recently (but I guess thats a good thing too. :) )
Usually when I binge its on baked chips. Yum!
It used to be chocolate too, but as mentioned, I can't as much anymore.

I'm a serious binge eater. Like, it borders on an ED. My anti-depressants are supposed to help me to not want to binge, but that hasn't happened. I will eat to the point of pain, and then eat some more.
Chips, cookies, ice cream, cheese and crackers, veggie burgers slathered in vegenaise, bread bread bread, and that will be the first course! I will keep eating until I simply can't eat any more. I never purge, I just binge binge binge...
which helps to explain why I'm 50 pounds overweight... :sigh:

Binge urges bug me too. On days where I get them, it feels like "all or nothing" --- I either go and binge, or I just don't eat at all. Luckily, they're not common, but, they're still a pain nevertheless..

i've always had bad teeth, they're sensitive to cold, and more and more lately, i have to be careful eating sweets, but i was always sensitive to it when i was a kid too. i remember sucking on chewy candies like caramel for hours, which i still do. i don't know why it happens (aside from my gaping cavity but i rarely chew on that side anymore) but all my molars are like this. and for some reason some days are worse than others. i'll have a test bite of something, and wince while chewing because i'm anticipating pain lol and if i find it doesn't hurt i'll eat a ton of cookies or something just cause i know tomorrow i probably won't be able to. it's wierd.
could have something to do with me not going to a dentist in years. *shrug*
anyway i thought about it and i guess i don't binge at all really, cause i basically eat whatever i want all the time.

I'll binge on just about anything if I eat it straight out of the container. But my biggest offenders would be cereal and anything sugary (probably b/c I try so hard to not eat sugar...). I find that if I just take out what I want and then put the rest away, then eat, and then go do something else to occupy myself for a good 20 min., I don't binge. A lot of work for a bowl of cereal... but hey it works.

i don't binge.. i make it a habit to just eat what I am craving, rather than eat a house trying to avoid the sugar/fat/dairy, etc.

hmm i always thought when i ate a little extra something i was binging...but maybe its because I don't have avery big appetite anyways. I dont normally eat out an entire house, per se. I'll have a bite or two of a few things and then I'm done. except dried fruit, i could eat soooo much of that. like I did this morning, but now I'm totally not hungry at all.
My problem is I get distracted...for example:
"Oh, I think I'll make a vegan lasagna."
*makes TVP mix and 'cheese' sauce, makes lasagna and puts it in the oven.*
"Oh look. leftover cheese sauce and TVP."
*makes and eats a toasted lasagna sandwich*
"Oh look, the bread's out...may as well use it."
*makes and eats some toast.*
"Oh look, there's *still* leftover sauces and hey, some pasta too..."
*makes and eats a mini-lasagna using the leftovers.*
"Hey, lasagna's ready...hmm, I'm kinda full, i should just put it in the fridge."
*Cuts a slice of lasagna and eats it.*
"Man, this is good."
*has some more, then shows remarkable restraint and puts the rest away.*
"Hey, that lasagna was really good..."
*goes into the kitchen and eats the rest of it.*
That was *not* a good day.
So basically just whatever I am cooking, and then anything that even vaguely relates to whatever I'm cooking.

This happens to me too, mainly if I eat candybars. My teeth are perfectly fine though, I asked my dentist and he said it's just sensitivity, kinda like how some people's teeth are sensetive to cold.
I binge all the time...like almost everyday  I didn't always, just the past couple months started up again (in the past used to b/p). I usually eat junk food, or just anything I can eat lots of.

I feel like I have binged when I eat a large packet of potato chips! I don't usually eat heaps so I end up feeling stressed if I do this. Lately though I tend to be a bit easier on myself and just accept it does happen at times and it is no big deal.

A little bit of no salt pretzels w/ vegan chesse slice over it, cereal, slice of wheat and fiber and sugar-free jelly and a little honey, small vegan pizza slice, fiber breakfast bar, apple + nectarine, slice of wheat and fiber bread w/ vegan cheese slice, probably little more than a serving of 5 grain wheat thins, some cashews, random dry snacking on life, cheerios and this fruit in the middle cereal, toast w/ vegan butter and sugar free jelly on a slice of wheat and fiber bread, a couple tsp full scoops of light ice cream, 4 strawberries and a small low fat waffle w/ sugar-free jelly and lite syurp = last night. Holy crap...what am I thinking????

DoshKel, I would love to see you eating that much food-or more- spread out over an entire day! It would be considered "healthy" for a boy of your age to do that, and maybe even eat more, depending on your height and weight (calorie requirements)...
