YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ran 5 miles this morning and rode 15 miles. Going swiming this afternoon with the Mouse. I hope to ride another 15 or 20 this evening. I got a new bike and it's soooo fast. It's my first road bike and I feel like Im siting on a rocket. Its a Specialized Roubaix Elite. It makes my Giant mtb feel like a tank.
I actually passed cars!!! I went so fast down a hill it scared me...but mang it felt so great.

Darn! How much did that thing cost? I'm looking to get a touring bike sometime in the future, but they're so expensive...
I'll carry over what I did from the last thread, since I did it today, and added on some more.
Biked 11 miles, then 50 crunches, 25 pushups, 2 mile jog.
P.S. - Yea, I ate enough to be doing all that.

Ok so yesterday I had a try at this interval training thing.. It didn't start well because I had somehow corrupted my ipod and didn't realise until I was at the gym so I didin't have any music :(
Anyhow I set the treadmill at 12km / hr a pace I should be able to fairly easily maintain over fairly long distances. I stayed at that pace for 5 mins then did 2 minutes at 15km / hr (which is faster than I would run 5km) then backed off to 12km /hr for 2 mins. I repeated 5 times, I might have been able to do another but I was really starting to hurt by this point! It remains to be seen if this will do me any good but I will keep trying at it.
After that I went and rowed for a while and did some swimming. Nothing today as have been to a family thing all day :(
Have a good week hamsters :hamster:

15 mile trail run this morning.
Whew. That run really kicked my a$$. The first 7 miles were straight uphill and I felt like lying down and dieing. Luickly I got a second wind and the second part although still tough, went better. It was hot too! Trail running way harder than road running, but its fun. :)
Blinkered, rowing is such a great workout!
Nice bike Budda. :)
Cissy and clickman, doing great!

My body was still tired from yesterday. I wish I was in a position to exercise every other day instead of two days in a row since I think I'd have consistantly better workouts.
Anywho, I did about 11 minutes elliptical, 25 minutes strength training, 25 minutes treadmill.

I had the surf lesson today! It was SO much fun!! But way too short (about 20 minutes) but it was FREE! Now I can rent a surf board and start learning on my own because I now know the basics. I went swimming for awhile after the surf lesson so I had a nice active and tiring day.
Have a good week everyone!

Just got in so I will catch up tomorrow. For me, this weekend stunk Hamster-wise. My hip still hurts even though I took the whole weekend off! Tomorrow I will take some anti-inflammitories and see if that helps. The pain is not that bad, but enough to make me worry because it's constant.
Go Hamsters!

Yikes. I hope that hip feels better soon Slynny. :(
Have you tried ice? Can you even ice a hip? It seems like ice is the solution to everything when running.

Ok, so I took a break for a few days...but that's ok, because I'm still working on getting used to working out...
but today i played DDR for a while, until i got tired, and did some laundry(THAT COUNTS! i had to walk up and down stairs a lot) and i still have some more to do.
oh man, tragedy has struck. I used to do exercise videos a lot, to mix it up and because theyre convenient, but i found out my vcr is not hooked up correctly. i have to find my brother to help me fix this immediately!:(

Did full body strength training today, and I'm going swimming again in a bit... I love swimming, it's so relaxing, but it's still hamstering.
(BTW, my brother was looking over my shoulder while I was on VB, and he said "Hamsters?!", so I said it's our little exercise group. He replied "Oh, I was thinking 'Hamster, is that someone who only eats ham?'" :p)

Saturday - 8 mile trail run, about 1,600 feet elevation gain.
Sunday - Upper body lifting.
Today - I'll probably run about 3 or 4 miles with about 500 elevation gain.

How the heck can you run up that?
In my above post (don't know if you saw it) I did a 15 mile trail run in the mountains. I do a lot of hiking but trying to run up that thing was hard and it kicked my butt! The first 7 miles was straight up hill. About 1600 ft like yours.
And you ran an entire marathon like that, right? :wayne:
Today for me:
Nothing I'm so sore from yesterday! Maybe I'll do some biking or something later when it cools off to loosen up a little.

Good job on the 15 mile trail run! :D Sounds like fun.
I run it either slowly, or at a quicker pace, but stop and walk occasionally to catch my breath. It’s not easy, and some steeper parts are a must-walk anyway, but you get used to it. I love trail running.
And you ran an entire marathon like that, right?
Yeah, the marathon was tough. It was 24.5 miles with over 5,500 feet elevation gain, an average elevation of 10,900 feet, and a high point of 12,400 feet. It’s hard enough running with that much elevation gain, but at over 2 miles above sea-level, there isn’t much air to breathe either. Also, the course is very rugged and steep for a trail run. In fact, I slipped at about the 8 mile mark and gashed my knee open. I kept an eye on the blood loss and it wasn’t too bad, so I kept running. After the race, I got 5 stitches in the knee.
I might run it again next year and see if I can beat my time. It’s a fun, challenging course and I think I’d train a little differently next time. On the other hand, I'd like to see what my time would be in a relatively flat, sea-level marathon. We'll see. :)

I was in the treatment center all day, so, I couldn't ride much... I woke up 40 minutes early (At 4:50AM!) so I could get a ride in though.
5 mile bike, then 100 crunches.
