I have itchy breasts, right on the nipple area.I have had it for a few weeks now and its driving me nuts!I cant wear a bra, because it itches so bad!I dont have any redness or anything, just a little dryness.I had put vaseline on them, but its not helping.Does anyone have or know of something to apply on them?I was thinking plain olive oil?I have a mixture of olive oil and lavender oil.Maybe I should try that?

Have you changed soaps or detergents lately? Your skin could be reacting to a substance in the fabric of your bra or something in what you use to wash.
Maybe a good, thick, deep moisturizing creme? Something soothing and hydrating to help the inflamed skin?

When nursing moms get Thrush, this rinse is recommended:
Mix 1 tablespoon white vinegar with about a cup of water. Lean over the cup and soak nipple in it for a minute or so, then stand over the sink and pour it slowly over the nipple. This can bring immediate relief.
It doesn't cure the problem causing the itchiness, but it's soothing.

I get that sometimes, but I thought it was related to my eczema. You might put a little OTC cortisone on...I don't think that would do any damage and it would likely help.

Try getting a really good lotion like eucerine or something else more natural. Could just be dry skin.

i used to get it when i was putting my bras in the dryer. a year or so ago i stopped doing that cause they were falling apart too quick, the straps curl up and everything, so i hang them to dry now and i don't get the itchiness nearly as often. not sure if it was from the fabric softener or what. we use bounce sheets so could be, cause i think it leaves residue on clothing that probably rubs off onto the skin.
what i really hate though is when a loose hair somehow ends up in my bra and pokes me through the fabric all frickin day, usually while i'm out or at work so i can't do anything about it. i find also with older bras that i had been putting in the dryer, the fabric starts to pill (gets little fuzzies) and that probably adds to the problem too.

I have that and I haven't found anything that works perfectly but I use this store bought eczema cream and it works pretty well.

Ugh, I've got this problem today. It's the left one that's acting up. :(

My inner 12 year old must be acting up today because I got such a giggle out of this mental picture.
I'm going with Ruthie on this one. Cocoa butter is my itchy nipple lube of choice.

its probably one of the following thats causing this:
contact dermatitus/eczema
fungal infection
allergy
folliculitus
dirty bra
try washing all your clothes and bras in the warmest water possible with no detergent. and switch to a plain unscented glycerine soap for your showers. do not use any lotions, etc... if this doesnt clear up the problem in like 3 days then see a doctor.
