I always have a hard time trusting cooking directions on the back of boxes. So , how do I grill these?

Low heat , medium , high? How long do I grill on each side?

Thanks.

I microwave them for 90 seconds. = )

But I think you can trust the cooking directions, as much as you can trust anyone's directions since heat varies from appliance to appliance.

I always toaster oven my boca burgers & chik patties. And I always overcook them. That way they get a small amount of crust to the outer edges.

When I grilled a similar frozen soy burger thing, I just sorta put them on medium heat, and checked them now and then. I don't think any specific time is going to be a magic number.

nuke em a minute per side.

Are we talking outdoor grill or indoor George Foreman deal? On the outdoor grill, you can follow the cooking instructions on the box, they're pretty accurate, 3-4 minutes per side, if I remember correctly. I would advise spraying the patties with a bit of non-stick spray to avoid stickage on the grill.

On the indoor grill, I usually do mine for about 7 minutes total, and flip them over when there is about 2 minutes left.

I think they taste best when cooked for about 4 minutes each side on med-high. I also coat the pan with a bit of olive oil for added flavor. mmmm :vebo:

Lightly coat pan with olive oil. Cook over low/medium heat for 5 minutes per side.

Thanks everyone!

You'll have to forgive me for asking the question , I can't cook to save my life.

I'll probably find a way to screw this up.

I nuke them in the microwave. The problem with that is that they tend to dry out. So you can pierce the plastic wrapping and add a little water before nuking, or cook them slightly less than the directions call for. If you steam veggies or whatever as part of the meal, you can also "undercook" them then put them in the steamer. Moisture seems to be the key.

When I used to eat chick patties, I would always microwave them for about a minute each side and then throw it in the regular old toaster until it got just a bit crispy because the microwave tends to make it soggy! We don't have a toaster oven, so I just used a bread toaster...worked fine, lol! I've never tried it with boca burgers...but maybe it will work!

I always do my boca burgers under the broiler wrapped loosely in aluminum foil and them take the foil off at the end to crisp them a bit, turning them once...or on the regular old grill in aluminum foil (cuz my parents cook meat on there too...eww)

For chik'n patties, I throw them in the toaster oven at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes. Turn out perfect every time. For burgers, I have a bit of cooking spray or oil in a pan for 4 minutes each side at med-high heat. They always turn out well too.

I don't use boca but I use similar organic vegan burgers. I like to pan fry them with (insert favorite oil here) on each side until crispy.

I also nuked them before. I'd let them sit for about 2 minutes after nuking them so they'd harden up a bit. Otherwise, if I skipped the sitting period, they came out too soggy, yuk!

Just as a note, you don't actually cook boca burgers, or any other faux burgers. You simple warm them up. They are mostly pre-cooked.

To prepare food by applying heat..hmmmmm

So if you "bring home the Boca and fry it up in a pan", you are cooking it.

IamJen employs the pan method for veggieburgers as well...microwave (if I had one) makes them too mushy.

awwww
lets not fight today guys, if you want to call it warming up, call it warming up , if you want to call it cooking, call it cooking

Unhealthy = tasty

Fry it with a ton of oil. I use coconut because it's unhealthier, but canola is good too.
