My cat Pascale is very ill. Her throat and glands, both in her neck and near her hind legs, are very badly swollen and she is having difficulty breathing and swallowing. She won't eat either, we think her throat is too sore and swollen. She is running a very high temperature too, about 3 degrees over what it should be. Poor thing, this is her second night at the vets being too ill to go home. She has been given anti-inflammatories and broad spectrum anti-biotics but these have so far had no effect on the symptoms.
So far they have done blood tests which came up negative for infections. The next step is a biopsy. We get the results of the biopsy back tomorrow, and might know more then. So far this has cost $265, not including what they are going to do for her tomorrow when we get the results back. And the vet has been very nice too, he didn't charge for her overnight stays.
The problem is, I only have about $70 for the next week, all inclusive. My parents have lent me $90. That should be enough for me to pick her up tomorrow, I hope, and I'll pay the rest off to the vet over time. I just hope she doesn't need a whole slew of more expensive drugs tomorrow, but I'm sure she will, the poor thing.
Damn it, this couldn't have come at a worse time money wise, I just paid a whole lot of bills and back rent last week. I'd have fobbed them off and paid for Pascale had I known.
I dunno... I'll get it (the money that is). I just needed a whinge, that's all. Perhaps someone has had a cat with a similar illness?
