I have a 'thing' for beauty-shop high end brand shampoos. VO5 and the like make my hair feel like straw. :surprised
In the past, I have not been able to find a designer line that does not test on animals. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, Biolage? I love their products...hmmm...will check into it. Thanks for the tips on Arbonne, as well.
I found "Big Sexy Hair" tonight at Target and saw they do not test on animals. I think I will give them a go...
Thanks!

Anyone know if Andrew Collinge shampoos and conditioners are vegan/animal friendly?

TIGI Products (Bed Head, Cat Walk) are o.k. The only one that isn't vegan is the Cat Walk Oatmeal & Honey line for obvious reasons. Paul Mitchell is o.k. as well. Other than those, I don't know of any other high end products that are vegan (if that's what you're looking for).

Citre Shine is vegan but is a drug store brand.

Tip: Warm olive oil once a week on the last two inches of your hair. Let sit for a half hour or more (I use a plastic cap) then wash. Does wonders for dry hair. Also, wash your hair every other day and not every day. Inbetween using shampoo use conditioner. Try to pay attention from the ends up when conditioning. When shampooing, concentrate from the top down. I actually attempt to shampoo my scalp only and it works out pretty well.

ETA: you may find something in this (http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?p=465606#post465606) thread as well.

I probably shouldn't ask this as I'm guessing they're probably a no-go... Victoria's Secret "Very Sexy" shampoo and conditioner? Is that non-tested?

natures gate is crueltyfree and the chamomile is great. I still love pantene though-I know all the bad stuff about it, but it just makes my hair feels so healthy.

What's wrong with Pantene? I don't use it, but I'm curious.

I DO use an all-natural, cruelty free olive oil shampoo, and I love how clean and soft it leaves my hair.

Mezzo - Victoria's Secret doesn't test :) And the only bad thing that I know about Pantene is that it is tested and owned by Procter and Gamble.

SERIOUSLY?

Oh LORD, now I'm going to spend my entire paycheck there on their hair products. They smell SO GOOD. :)

Aveda is nice. Those are the only products that the salon that I work at use. Whenever I want my hair washed and we have down time I get one of the other stylists to do it. It smells yummy also.

Ok, all the title to this thread could make me think of was
"Little bunny foo-foo hopping through the forest,
Picking up the field mice and bopping 'em on the head"

Giovanni is organic and cruelty free, and I just LOVE their "Magnetic Power Treatment". It's a deep conditioner that makes my hair super silky, which is a real challenge considering the length of my hair and its dye history.
