Have you guys tried it? I was so surprised to see it.
They have Plain and Vanilla with the Silk.
I ran over to the case and told Mark that
was so kewl because that means soy milk is
mainstream now.

I know a lot of you may not agree with Wal*mart's
ethics but I do a lot of shopping there as they are the
cheapest place to shop, it is right across the street
from work, and they carry most of the things that I
buy. I do sometimes go to other stores like HFS and
the Asian Grocer for specialty items like TVP Chunks
and cheap-o tofu. For those of you that are not vegan,
they carry (Wal*mart) big bags (2 lbs. for $3.25)
of soy cheese called Del Sunshine, and Veggie Cheese.
They have casien in them. Wal*mart also carries Lunas and Clifs for cheap.

That's cool that walmart is starting to carry more veg-friendly products and even coming out w/ their own brands, even if I don't support them. At least it shows that the foods I eat are becoming more accepted.:)

I think that all corporations, stores, etc. straight up suck.
They treat thier employess like crap, etc. I hate it too.
Wal*mart is very convienent to me, if I lived closer to Richmond, I would
shop at the HFS there. As I live in the boonies, Wal*mart is close to me,
they sell items I buy. I do have a Ukrops (a chain store that is Richmond based)
that I shop at also. As I have a limited amount of dollars I have to shop at
the store that is the closest to me that has the cheapest items.

The corporation I work for sucks sometimes, but it doesn't suck nearly as much as Walmart! And I can't really agree that it treats it's employees like crap. I have free medical insurance, make more than $12 an hour as a cashier, and went to Thailand for 3 weeks while getting paid the whole time with benefit hours! :D

A few days ago I heard an ad that says "Walmart cares about communities... blah blah blah" and I was like, that's total crap! What about all the local businesses that have been established for generations that they're causing to go out of business?

It's just a growing beast like all corporations and it's selling out (as some would say) in a lot of ways. Where as once it was the corner health food store now it's closing the corner health food stores.

There are many other examples I could give you like that. Growing pains, I guess.

Whole Foods is a bit too pricey for my blood, but they've got some nice stuff. On the other hand, Trader Joe's often has better prices than the big supermarkets.

If I had a choice between Wal-mart selling soy milk and not selling soy milk, I'd rather that they sell it. The fact that they're starting to carry more vegetarian choices is a testament to our growing significance as a target market.

Wal-Mart has a lot of vegetarian products. But it is cool to see consumer demand rising enough to warrant stores making their own brand of soy milks and soy cheeses.
My cousin works for Wal-Mart. Around here they hire a lot of people that other places would never consider hiring. I can't say that about the local health food stores. Some of the local mom-n-pop stores even openly discriminate, with policies not allowing homeless people to enter the store.
