I dyed my hair last night and now I have the WORST case of chemical burn on my ears, the back of my neck, and the top of my head. The stupid thing is that I did a skin patch test before hand and it came out fine! I've been dying my hair since I was 16...11 years! I wonder why I suddenly got a chemical burn?!?
It itches to high heaven and if you itch it it just starts burning again.

How about trying a little hydrocortisone cream or a little aloe vera, putting your hair up in a pony, and not wearing turtle necks? :)
And then just be uber-careful next time! :D
Hmmm...did you switch brands or something? Maybe another product is gentler? Or have you been sleep derived/ run down lately? That causes my body to become very reactive...I can break out in hives if stressed, I have IBS, and my digestion...stops... Don't underestimate what can happen to you if you *are* stressed.
Feel better soon.

People can become sensitized and develop an allergy to the ingredients even after using a particular product for many years.
I think you should go see a dermatologist or at the very least your primary physician. I probably don't have to tell you, but burns are serious business and are at great risk for infection. You really don't want to loose your hair due to infection or fungus or something along those lines.
I'd be careful what kind of home remedy you use because it could potentially make matters worse.
Ugh. Let us know how it turns out.
