I've recently stopped buying store brand products and going all natural and couldn't be happier. For my hair I use a rosemary lavendar shampoo bar followed by a herbal vinegar rinse and once a week a herbal hot oil treatment. For my body I use handmade soap bars, salt and sugar scrubs, and lotion bars. The rinse I make myself from the recipe here: http://chagrinvalleysoapandcraft.com/shampving.htm
Chemicals in store-brand products (including health food store though they're a little better) for me are really scary. Just try looking up some of the ingredients you can't pronounce. I thought it would be expensive but other than the scrubs the products are around or a little more than the cost of others.
Word of advice- shampoo bars for the first few washing will make your hair feel nasty, it's all of the sythentics being released from your hair shafts. It goes away and then your hair becomes softer, shinier, and has more body. Also never use salt scrubs after shaving.

Sugar scrubs are for polishing of dead skin on your legs, arms, back, etc. not for cleaning your neither regions.
