I ordered these (http://www.grassrootsnaturalgoods.com/footwear/052.html), from here (http://www.grassrootsnaturalgoods.com/).

I don't think they're a totally vegan store (I think I saw some silk in one of the blouses), but the shoes are vegan and they had the best price I could find on the ones I wanted.

I love my foam rubber flipflops (uber comfy and convenient) but they are against company dress code, so I have to stop wearing them to work. (Sup noticed them today, heh.)

The new sandals fit the dress code since they have a strap across the heel. Hopefully they'll be equally comfortable and nice once I get them broken in, though.

They should be here in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! :D

That is a neat site. I always hate buying shoes because I want, non-cow-killing, sweatshop-free, enviro-friendly, reasonably-priced ones. :) But these look awesome.

Thanks for posting.

Erm. I used to have those shoes. Just to warn you: the bottoms become VERY slick. I mean NO traction whatsoever. The straps also tend to really chafe a lot, especially the back one around the Achilles tendon. I never found a solution for this, except wearing moleskin on that area (not very attractive.) And they get very dirty, very fast.

Well, I got them today.

I'm wearing them, and so far, they seem pretty comfy. Usually, I have to suffer through a break-in period whenever I get new shoes, and because I'm extremely blister-prone, I usually have to deal with that, too.

So far, I'm hoping the break-in period for these will be a little less painful than what I usually experience.

MollyGoat was right about the poor traction, my parents have hardwood floors and I could definitely feel it. Maybe it will get better when I've scuffed them up a bit. Worst case scenario, maybe I'll try to find some kind of synthetic rubbery material to glue to the soles? I'll have to think about it.

Anyway, my initial impression is positive. ^^

I had some of the clogs made by the same company. They're very comfortable, but Alaska was too wet for them I think. The bottoms were always getting wet and turned sort of mushy on me. I might try them again here, since it never rains hardly. I think it's rained twice since I moved hre about eight months ago.
