Well not really, but kind of. I have a four year old and a five year old. The 5yo boy is of the thin gangly body type. The 4yo is of the thick muscle-man body type. There used to be about a 4 lb. weight difference in them. But since we've been to Florida, the baby has lost weight. Only 1.4 lbs., but the 5yo has gained 1.4 lbs. in the same time period. So I'm a worrywart, what can I say? Should I not worry? The biggest difference in the baby's diet is the giving up of cow's milk (which stopped mid-March) and the lowered intake of cheese. Now I know cheese is a high calorie item, but I didn't think he would lose weight over it. Help!

Some people are naturally thin. Are you or your husband thin? If so, then there ya go. I was a big baby, almost 10 pounds at birth, but I really thinned out. I wouldn't worry too much.

 Tash.

I was a chubby baby and a very thin child. But I'm just worried that our dietary changes are affecting his weight. If you look at the attached pic you can see how different their bodies are though. See the baby's cute buddha belly? I don't want him to lose that

Aww..the belly is so cute! I noticed that your older son is alot thinner than the younger one. It might be just natural though. My 13 year old sister is twice the size of me.

Rincaro - They're adorable (and I'm totally not a kid person, so that means double, I would think!) They both look quite healthy and happy and I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I bet the milk/cheese is it...
It's probably not a big deal; the weight loss is so minimal that it could even be just fluctuating because he drank water before you weighed him this time and didn't before you weighed him last time.

Feed him nuts. Those are pretty much just little nuggets of fat.

Those are some adorable kids. you're one lucky momma.

Beer seems to have helped me put on weight. Give it a try!

Very cute kids. They look okay to me weight-wise. Maybe start feeding him extra peanut butter if you're worried.

So we're in the grocery store the other day and the little stinker says as loud as he can "We drink beer" and then he snickers into his hand and in his sweet soft low voice he says, "Yep, we drink *root* beer". I thought child services was gonna be waiting at the checkout!

How funny! Too cute.

Avacados, olives, seeds, nuts are all high calorie items, which you probably knew. You can make nut and seed spreads to put on bread or crackers, that oughta fatten him up. My husband grew up a skinny kid, but he ate enough and wasn't unhealthy. Some people are just skinny.

He doesn't look unhealthy to me. You could ask his doctor, as it may not even be necessary to fatten him up any.

My four year old doesn't differenciate between root beer and beer. Sometimes when I ask her what she wants to drink with her dinner she'll say "beer!" It's always fun when she does this when other people are over.

They are so cute! I'd keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't worry. As long as they have a healthy, well-balanced diet, their weight may fluctuate, but it won't be a concern. A change in diet especially may throw things off a bit, but it's an adjustment. It's also possible he's grown in height and therefore thinning out a bit.

ROFLMAO!!!!

When I was little I used to be PARANOID about my mother wanting to fatten me up. Like the Hansel and Gretel thing. "Yes my child, eat EAT!!!" I honestly thought she was doing it for some heinus(sp?) plan too. LOL

^^^ Hehe, and grandparents are the worst. They are always convinced that you aren't getting enough to eat.
