Has anyone here had much luck with enzymatic urine removal products? I'm trying one for the first time (Urine-Erase) with all fingers crossed.

the problem with many of these products is that they aren't too effective once you've already tried to clean the area with something else. they generally say so on the bottle. this was my problem. *sighs*

I've used Natures Miracle with pretty good results. Just be sure you follow the directions, and realize that it takes a little time for it to work. It's not an instant fix.

Argh! The instructions didn't indicate anything along those lines. I'd already soaked up the urine and then scrubbed the area with a soapy rag.

The bottle states that the first half needs to sit there for eight hours and that it will intensify the smell of the urine. I've got to figure out what to put over the area to keep the guys out now. Sigh!

Might sound weird but with my rabbits mistakes I use white vinegar immediately to get rid of stains and smells.

Nature's Miracle works great and so does Smells Be Gone. I used smells be gone on my couch after trying everything else under the sun and it still worked. Just be sure with either to totally saturate the spot, especially on carpet, furniture, etc. so it reaches everywhere the pee did. Nature's Miracle does definitely intensify the smell but once it's dry, the smell is history.
Try putting aluminum foil over the spot. Most animals don't like to walk on it. I also read once if they do insist on moving the foil and still peeing on the spot as it's drying to put their food dish on top of the foil. They don't want to pee near their food.

please keep in mind that improper urination in cats is usually due to a health condition. many cats end up in the shelters because they have a bladder infection their owner never knew about. they are extremely painful and if untreated can eventually cause death. improper urination due to health conditions is in fact the #1 reason cats end up in shelters. (aside from people not spaying/neutering of course)
