I was reading my local animal shelter's newsletter and they had a story about a little girl who wanted to do something special for the animals on her birthday. I love this idea!
She had a party, but instead of asking for gifts for herself, she asked that everyone bring gifts for the animals at the shelter. The children brought gift certificates, money, and lots of food and goodies.
The article didn't go into any further detail.
How cool is that? What a great idea that little girl had and I think I may have to copy that in the future!

That is so sweet! This year for my son's B-Day party I am going to ask that people make a donation to a vegan/animal rescue charity in his name instead of bringing gifts. He certainly doesn't need any more stuff. Maybe next year we'll do the presents for animals in the local shelter. That is such a good idea!
