View Full Version : My veg page on the school paper

For the junior issue of my HS newpaper, we did the whole back page on vegetarianism with recipes and my testimony as well as a meat-eaters view. There was supposed to be a lot more (nutrition, types of veg, etc.) info on there but there wasn't room. Just wondering if anyone would like a copy...I'll send out 15, so if you're interested PM me or post here, please
FYI: Junior issue is the first issue that next year's staff puts out and I was promoted to editor :vebo: which is mostly why we got to do a veg page.

That's so awesome!! Can the newspaper make it into a .pdf file (my daughter's school paper is also available in .pdf) - then you can share it via email to as many people as you want :)

I don't think so. :( Sorry. We have this new software that won't let us do that...I'd actually rather do that, I think, because personally, I wouldn't want to give address info to someone I didn't know just to get their newspaper :) I could just post my article, but I can't post a whole page(s). Good idea though, many people would probably appreciate that.

I suppose you don't send to Norway :p
From here it costs $8 U.S. to send a letter to Norway...but if you'd like to send me $ for shipping I'd be more than happy to  :p:

You should send it to someone with a scanner and then we could post it as a graphic here... (My scanner was broken in the move - sorry :()

Ooooh, I'll scan it either tonight or this weekend! Duh, I never thought of that :dunce: I'll start a new thread when I do it.
Mayuko - if I do this, do you still want a hard copy? It's no problem for me to send it anyway (then you get the rest of the paper too ;) )

I'd like one! I'll PM you my mailing address if there are any left! Also, I might be able to use my dad's copier to enlarge the page in sections- it might make it easier to read and then those pages can be scanned in and posted.

Thank you, Anna, for sending me the paper by snail-mail.
I took the liberty of attempting to scan the page of the paper into 4 images (JPGs). UL=upper left, LR=lower right, etc. York-hi=York High School news paper. Anon=I blocked out annabananas' real name.
I can redo or play around with the scans. But you gotta start somewhere.

Thank you so much, Joe!
Thank you for mailing me the hard copy. :)
I could try rescanning the quadrants, but most of them were scanned at one setting below the highest quality setting, so the quality would not improve much. Also, Michael has file size limits on the size of JPGs that can be uploaded to the board, so higher quality scans might not be uploadable here.
I do not know how to "stitch" multiple images together into one big image.
I don't know what this is even called. But I suppose I could look into it.
If anyone reading this thread could give me some pointers, I'd appreciate it.
I think you are doing a great job on your high school newspaper! Keep up the good work.

Don't worry about that - I think the quality is great! No need to rescan - it's excellent just how it is. :) Thanks again for taking the time to do that!
