By Jules Bass of Rankin & Bass fame. The book was pretty cool, although a bit over the head of my 5 year old. They talked about beheading dragons and Meathook the dragon eating the people in the kingdom. But for an older child it has good lessons about tolerance.

I love the illustrations. I make up my own story when I read it to my 2 year old. I think a 7 or 8 year old would appreciate it but it's a bit much for my son.

That's a great idea lijahbaby. Unfortunately my kids are learning to read and they *know* when I am making up words as I go along alot of the time. The illustrations are great though!

Our most favorite book is Old Turtle. The watercolor illustrations in that are breathtaking and the story is perfect for any age (even mine!).
