I scored some cheap Yves Good dog today (2$/6 dogs). Since this is the first time I try this, I check out their website for more info......but found the following statement:
We’ve improved the taste of this all-time favorite to make it more authentic tasting. With added dairy and egg ingredients, The Good Dog now tastes more like a real meat hotdog! Still cholesterol free with no saturated fat and a good source of protein, it will be the star of your next barbeque or family hot dog night.

But the ingredients sounds ok:
Ingredients:

Water, vital wheat gluten, isolated soy protein, canola oil, natural flavor, hydrolyzed corn and soy protein, salt, modified cellulose, dextrose, torula yeast, spices, onion powder, natural butter flavor, garlic powder, carrageenan (from seaweed), natural liquid smoke, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, iron oxide, iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium.

What's the deal??? :-/

Maybe you bought an older kind??

As a side note, I have not found the lacto-ovo kind locally either. I want to try them (as I don't like the vegan Good Dogs).

Yeah, they switched to ovo-lacto. The natural butter flavor is dairy. I'm not sure where the eggs come in, but they don't list them in the ingredients.

They made something that was vegan into something that was vegetarian?! That's awful!

sigh.....just when I was thrilled that I rescued *THREE* packs of almost-expired-halfway-to-the-dumspter Dogs while veganizing myself a whole lot :-/
The thing that irks me the most is their lack of clarity in terms of labeling :gun: "natural flavors" has to be THE most veg-unfriendly world.

In Canada they're still making the vegan good dogs. The lacto-ovo ones are called the Prima Veggie line here.

A-ha! Thanks saborm. I really dislike good dogs, so wanted to try the "new and improved".
