You can post questions about "the big move" here. If you don't know what I'm talking about see the announcement at the top of each forum.

Will we stil be able to acess all the old threads and everything that is on this server?
Luckily, I'll be staying at my friend's house the night before so I will be sleeping all day so I won't miss VB. At first I was scared, I could get VB deprevation. :dizzy:

Yep, everything that is here should be there when we're done with the move. Once you get through to the new server you won't see any difference at all. It's just that we can't have two copies of the board going at the same time because anything posted to the old server after it was copied would be lost.

I want to reiterate that even though we're planning on Sunday afternoon/evening it may take place at any time.
Also, as I stated elsewhere, the new features (recipes, articles, reviews) won't be available immediately following the move. We're hoping to add them within a week to 10 days.

As of now the plan is to shut off the board at 6pm CST tonight. I'm not sure how long the actual move will take. Like I said, once the move is complete it still might be 24 hours before you can access the board again.

Will the #veggieboards IRC Chat Channel on WorldNet IRC be operational during the move?
If so, will any VBers suffering withdrawal symptoms please join us there?

How? I've never used IRC. Can you do it through mIRC?

Don't forget - 6:00 CST! After the move you might not be able to get to the boards for 24 hours. That time will be different for everyone. This is the last reminder.

Yes you can, but I myself get thru to IRC channels via using a thing called Trillian like several others here do but just as many use mIRC too!...
I just find Trillian completely user friendly for the beginner thats why I use it.
Trillian acts as a support I think as some sort of inter-messenger facilitating
tool for easier (automatic) log-ins and connections and I think thats about it.
(and I guess they add functions and features to it all the time, quite possibly
ones I have yet to try). Anyway I guess the main thing you would want to know is that its compatible with all the major well known messengers.

Turns out the 24 hour thing wasn't applicable. Most everyone should be redirected here within 10 minutes. As you can tell, if you're reading this, the move is complete. There are still some issues to be ironed out so if you notice anything buggy let me know.

Yay! 24 hours would be far too long for me! :p

I think the time is fixed so if you had changed it in your user CP go back and set it to your correct time zone. Right under that change "detect DST settings" to "always on." Then it should show correct. :)

Everything should be working ok now. If you notice anything odd please let me know. I know there's no color in the photo album so no need to tell me about that one. That's a seperate issue that I'll be working on later.
Our next big project will be adding the new sections but that may be a week or two.

Oh, ok. I had to have DST on. I guess people can fool with it and find whatever works. I don't quite understand the DST thing.
