I don't read very much about their products on here so thought I'd bring it up. Freeman (http://www.freemanbeauty.com) is great for those of us that don't have a lot of money for vegan stuff. It's available at WalMart, drug stores and similar places.
I'm in love with the Peace at Hand Sunflower and Vanilla Sugar Complete Hand Care right now. I am also a big fan of the Apricot face scrub.
Just thought I would share.

Here is the response they sent me (also in the FAQ at the website):

Thank you for writing us, and we apologize if we have not responded to you in a timely fashion.

No animals are killed or harmed to produce Freeman products. As stated on our package, Freeman products are tested on friends and family, not animals, and contain no animal ingredients.

Thank you for your interest in Freeman Beauty Labs.

Kind Regards,
Freeman Beauty Labs

Awesome! I knew they didn't test, but it's great that they don't contain animal ingredients. I've recieved good reviews on their stuff from my veggie cousin Lynn :)

I always wondered if their stuff was vegan, but for some reason I never got around to contacting them. Thanks for posting! :)

Regarding Freeman:

Gordon Freeman in the flesh. Or rather, in the hazard suit. I took the liberty of relieving you of your weapons; most of them were government property. As for the suit, I think you've earned it. The borderworld, Xen, is in our control for the time being, thanks to you. Quite a nasty piece of work you managed over there. I am impressed.

Sorry..

When looking for it at places like Walmart, your best bet would be looking by the cosmetics - not the body washes.
Also, I've spotted some fantastic deals on Freeman stuff at Big Lots.

That's so cool! I knew a few of their products were vegan, but I didn't think all of them were.

I have been using Freeman products for years. I especially like their hair care line. Sometimes Ocean State Job Lots carries them too.

There's another product line that's owned by Freeman, Totally Juicy, that is vegan too.

Totally Nutty should be too.. but I found "acetylated lanolin alcohol" and "cetyl acetate" and "cetyl alcohol" listed in the ingredients`list of Shea Butter Heel Cream.
That means they`re using synthetic lanolin (usually the label says "synthetic" but this one doesn`t..) and stuff, or that they`re lying about the vegan-thing.. does anyone know if their lanolin is synthetic :worried:

Yup, I have their grapefruit scrub :)

I can never find either Freeman or Totally Juicy though - WalMart carries a couple Freeman products (that are wrong for my skin type) and Rite Aid carries a couple Totally Juicy products.

Cissy, do you have an Ulta nearby? I found the full Freeman line, including Totally Juicy.

The Apricot Cherry Shower Cream is delicious!

But of course you all know to buy it at drug stores and similar places. :D

Has anyone e-mailed Freeman Cosmetics about the lanolin (and other ingredients that sound like animal-based..) in their products? I´ve tried to but they haven`t answered..

If it`s real lanolin, their products are NOT vegan, that`s for sure :worried:
