I know the other thread has a lot of this stuff on, but I am struggling for some snacks for my kiddos. We are lacto-vegetarian and are stuck on the same snacks! Here's some of what we eat for snacks:
nuts
fruit
celery w/pb
yogurt
crackers w/cheese
veggies w/hummus or salad dressing
healthy chips with hummus
cheese
I need ideas please!!! Thanks! :)
Edited to add that we eat 3 snacks a day; midmorning, midafternoon, and before bedtime.

I don't have kids (I'm only 16 ) but my favourite snacks are/were:
-cereal w/ ~milk
-graham crackers w/ ~milk
-banana w/ ~yogurt and favourite toppings (nuts, etc)
-banana w/ PB
-soup
-granola bars (some are pretty bad for you though ^^)
-tortilla w/ fillings (salsa, beans, PBJ, whatever :p)
-pita w/ fillings (see above)
-half a sandwich
-smoothies
-fruits and veggies (if they're sick of the same old stuff, maybe try new kinds?)
Hope I could help :) I tried to make them fairly healthy.

My son loves dates(sometimes stuffed with nutbutter), dried pineapple rings, cashews, english muffin pizza, tofu pups, soft pretzals, apple and peanut butter, baked beans and fruit leather. That is all I can think of right now. I also give him leftovers from dinner for snack the next day.

Graham crackers with peanut butter are the greatest...
So are cracker with peanut butter...
So are carrots with peanut butter...
Come to think of it, just about anything is good with peanut butter :p

Make sure your kids brush their teeth well after raisins though. They get really sticky in the teeth, and can cause cavities :(

My kids like all of the above things. My four year old has recently started loving "ants on a log:" celery with peanut butter and raisins.
Let's see, other ideas:
animal crackers
dry cereal
fresh fruit salad
homemade muffins (you can make muffins out of almost anything!)
bananas and chocolate soy milk
apples with peanut butter
pretzels with peanut butter or mustard for dipping
chips and salsa
My kids love to dip things!

Anything in a tortilla kids love. PB&J stuffed in a tortilla is one of MY favorite snacks ;-) I must admit to a similar peanut butter addiction, misq17! Bananas with peanut butter, or PB on celery are my favorites.
Other favorite snacks: pasta salads made with nayonaise, black bean couscous salad, trail mix with lots of dried fruits.
Since you are lacto/ovo, I would consider cottage cheese as well (you can add pineapple and other flavors too! you can also buy cottage cheese that is fortified with extra calcium nowadays) Cottage cheese is good dippin' for baby carrots ;-) Also, string cheese (from horizons) is high in protein and calcium for it's caloric value.

I buy the ripe bananas off the shelf that they bag for $1 that are nice and soft and make triple batches of banana berry muffins and individually bag them for snacks throughout the next 2 weeks(they freeze great). I also make Cheerios bars they are sweet with peanut butter and maple syrup boiled down and mixed together and then refrigerated. The kids really like those. I buy the bags of prewashed organic baby carrots and split them into individual servings in baggies for snacks to. The individual string cheese is a hit as well. My kids both like hard boiled eggs as snacks so I boil a half dozen once a week and let them have 1 every other day.I buy Horizon organic brown eggs. They like the junk food to unfortunately...I hate to admit but I do buy a bag of chips , pretzels, and tortilla strips once a week. They do dip it in cottage cheese though..calcium at least....you can get some brands without gelatin in them. Hope that helps :)

sounds weird but I tried this the other night (it was shopping time and we only had weird odds and ends in the fridge):
spread hummus on a flour tortilla, then sprinkle canned sweet corn over it, roll, and eat whole or cut into sections (for kids). My baby gobbled it up and I tried it, liked it so much I made another for myself! :)
