I was just browsing the net (as you do) and stumbled across this website. I've never tried the product but thought it may be useful for some of you to try.
It's supposed to be a vegan alternative to Quorn.
http://www.quinova.co.uk/
Under "Retail" on the left hand side you can enter your town and it will tell you if there are any shops nearby that stock it.

Thanks for posting that!
I was looking through the website and found these stats, but it doesn't give any indication of where they come from:
Market Facts
Vegetarian / Meat Free meals now worth 500m
Ethical consumerism is growing by 27% per year, now 23m
Vegetarians now represent 7% of the population
Organic Sales growing by 54%, now 491m
I wonder if that's UK stats or international?
I'll be on the lookout for this. Supposedly there's a shop near me that stocks it.

I've given quinova a go, and I wasn't all that impressed with it, but as I like to say "It's best to try anything once"

I've seen this in a health food shop where I live and was interested, but it was extortionately expensive so I didn't bother and stuck with the tofu and soya protein. But I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried it.

I've tried it, and personally, I think the best vegan meat substitute I'm had so far is realeat's vegemince. (Which is a ground beef substitute.)

Yeah, I'll second the Vegemince. It's good, and fairly widely available.

So finally, we've found a new brand of vegan food that could rival and match Quorn in taste and texture. Gee, I wonder what leavening agent this brand uses since it's suppossedly vegan!
