Some old friends of mine from high school are getting married in June (eek!) and I need a dress to wear to the wedding. I haven't been to a wedding since I was like 12! I live in the boonies, so I'd like to at least look at some stuff online before I can get to an actual store.

I'd like something in the $150 or less price range. For the record, I'm 22 years old, 5'8, and a size 6-8 in dresses, with a large bust.

Any good sites?

I don't know about sites, but I'm your size and height and I just got a gorgeous prom dress for around your price range from Gia & Co. I don't know if they have a website but I loved almost every dress I tried on, you may want to check there if they've got other branches or a website.

The store I went to was in State College, PA, by the way, on the off-chance that you might be in the vacinity. Happy hunting! :)

How formal is the wedding going to be? Is it an indoor or outdoor ceremony/reception? What dept stores and other stores/boutiques do you have in your area?

The invitation doesn't specifically say how formal the wedding will be, but I'm guessing pretty formal, considering the couple. I think it will be outside.

I have NO stores in my area; I live in rural Vermont. I'll have to make a trip to New York state to get something...I guess, you know, H&M, Macy's, those places.

Just a idea: go to Montreal. With the price of the American dollar, compared to the Canadian dollar, you could save a lot. Montreal has good shopping.

What I meant was what stores would you be shopping in when you make your shopping trip. :) There's lots of places on the web to look for dresses, some are very formal (prom dress styles and evening gowns) and some have more of the look that you would wear for church or sundresses. Just trying to get an idea to send you in the right direction. :)

Check the websites for the stores you would likely shop in to get an idea of what they have. www.hm.com www.macys.com
Amazon has dresses from several stores/brand names. Do a search there under women's apparel. www.edressme.com seems like an idea, too.

Another place is www.windsorstore.com They sell mainly prom dresses but there are also a few for weddings. www.nordstrom.com always has some options, and they have great shipping policies and a pretty good price range.
