Maybe this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone happened to know of any vegetarian/vegan friendly private schools in the LA area? We will be moving to the W. Hollywood/ Bev. Hills area next year and my kids will need to start school somewhere (I have been and will be homeschooling them until then) I really don't want to have to worry about them being "taught" the food pyramid crap and how "Bessie's" whole purpose in life is to provide milk for humans  (I already have to really monitor their TV watching to filter that garbage out) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
Christine :)
L.A. is generally more veg-friendly than a number of places, but I couldn't tell you of any schools leaning in that direction. It would be truly amazing to me if such places did exist. Please let us know if you find one.
There are some great veg restaurants in the West Hollywood area. Let me know when you get out here.

Thanks for the reply :) I definitely will drop you a line when I get out there - right now I am torn between whether I should go to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts or The New York Film Academy (LA branch at MGM) Any suggestions??!! I just cannot decide! The third option is attending IMTA and hopefully getting an agent so I can try to start getting some work and then just work with an acting coach on the side (also sometimes you can get scholarships to study w/ various schools and private acting teachers at IMTA) I have been getting a ton of acting (paid!!!) work lately here, so I'm taking that as a good sign that maybe I could get work out there (although I know there is a LOT more competition!) I'm just trying to decide if the almost 20K I would spend on an acting school is really worth it.....
Take care!
Christine :)
Spend the $20k getting top-notch private coaching then funding your own showcase short film.

Hmmm.... now that's an idea I really hadn't considered, but it makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the suggestion! Do you happen to have any recommendations of a good acting coach?
Christine :)
Several. Depends on the level of talent, age, etc. You can PM with more details, if you like.

I am not aware of any public schools out here that do this ..really sorry. My one friend's son's public junior high school does have a small garden salad available in their Pizza Hut/cafeteria but its always sold out pretty quick. What I do is send their lunches with them. Most schools allow this. They have lockers or cubbies for them to store them in. I put freezer packs in the soft sided insulated lunch carriers. It helps to freeze things like juiceboxes as well. An option for you to consider if you are wanting a performing arts school is a charter school. You should be able to find many of them in LA. I am in Hesperia, CA (high desert) and my children are in the Song Preparatory Program which is a performing arts charter school . K- Thru 12th grade gets music lessons, art, drama, plays, singing you name it...FREE . You have to preregister and it can take up to a year to get your child in so I suggest looking soon if you think this is a option for you. You can find them thru the computer and phone books. My younger son has 12 students in his class...they both have A's and B's for grades and were failing public school last year and getting beat all the time. Not in this school :) Best of luck to you...its admirable you are wanting the best for your children
