Some have harsh chemicals. Some may have animal products in them but I am not sure. I like to use natural shampoo made from plant extracts.

So, is it more of an environment thing, than an animal thing?? or is it to do with animal testing??

i think most have glycerine in them and other animal parts, plus theres the animal testing issue. If it doesn't say no animal testing, its been tested.

Actually many products that say "no animal testing" are owned by companies that do test (clairol owns herbal essences). But several companies that don't test don't mention it on their package, like revlon products.

Revlon doesn't test? Is it shampoos or make up too?

Ive heard about this loophole too, does that mean that clariol still tests the herbal essenses shampoo on animals but herbal themselves dont? Ive heard someone before say if it says it on the bottle, not tested, another company probably has, of course im not sure to believe it.

My brand of choice is Aubrey Organics. Good for the environment. Good for the animals. Good for you.

No, they can't test Herbal Essence shampoo on animals and claim that they don't. But money spent on Herbal Essence goes to Clairol, which goes to Proctor & Gamble (the parent company). And then Proctor & Gamble spends part of that money on animal tests for their other products.

I buy Herbal Essence shampoo sometimes since it is cruelty free and contains no animal products.
