I'm up for whitening my teeth, and I'm not sure where to start looking for vegan, compassionate products that actually work well while putting my gums in as little pain as possible.
Anyone have any experience in this area?
Also, I'm looking for an anti-perspirant/deodorant, and I'd like to try something other than the crystal. It seems every vegan/compassionate deodorant available to me isn't anti-perspirant, because they're all also "natural." Though, actually, a good deodorant would be nice to find, too. I'm thinking of giving one summer a try without anti-perspirant. I might die, but it's worth a shot!

I don't know if Tom's roll-on is vegan, but I use it (not anti-prespirant) and love the scent. Works well.

For deodorant, Mitchum is vegan. It's not natural, but I've found that it's the only one that works really well when the heat is on.
I use Kiss My Face whitening toothpaste and love it. You won't see real drastic results with it, but it will help to brighten your smile.

I also use Mitchum for my summer deoderant (the Rock doesn't cut it in the sweaty months). Jason's PowerSmile is a really good whitening toothpaste, and it's *very* minty.

Tom's deodorant is gross.
Mitchum is the only thing that seems to work. I get by on Jason's, but I don't stay as dry, since it's just a deodorant, and not the strongest one I've ever used. No nasty chemicals, though.
I do like Jason's whitening toothpaste. No chemicals there, either. Not sure I've noticed any significant whitening, but I drink coffee, and the stains don't seem to set as well as they did before switching to a "whitening" toothpaste.

I've never seen a tooth whitening anti-perspirant. It's an interesting idea, but I just don't know....

When I use Tom's, I smell like a pine tree for three hours. After that I just smell.

When I first read the title of the thread I definitely thought it was referring to a combined toothwhitener/antipersperent as well... whoa, my head was spinning...

ive tried many many natural and vegan deoderants. The main ingredient in anti persperants is aluminum. This sinks in through your skin and into your bloodstream and over the long run is terrible for you. Mitchum IS great BUT it has a VERY high aluminum content (thats why it works...) non-aluminum anti persperants are hard to come by. I've tried one that works, its Adidas made with Cotton... i know, its adidas.. not a company i would normally ever consider buying from... however, it works. well.

I really don't like deodorants, I much rather anti-perspirants, but find it hard to find vegan ones.
But I've discovered Thursday plantation's anti-perspirant, works fantastically, and it contains no aluminium for those concerned with this.
Check out:

Definitely something I will stick with!!
Cheers!

I second the recommendation to keep Aluminium out of your body. One reason that I buy Claussen's pickles is that they aren't made artificially crispy with alum.

my favorite deodorant (http://www.benedetta.com/deodorant.html) is by a small, northern california-based company called benedetta (http://www.benedetta.com). i've talked with the owner and it is most definitely vegan and even better than organic, is biodynamic (http://www.organicstyle.com/feature/0,8028,s1-41-0-0-560,00.html). the best part? it actually works and i've tried a bunch of products out there. bonus: they offer free shipping!
as an aside, i also use their facial products and sunscreen and have been quite happy with each item i've tried. if you are in san francisco, their products are available at village market (http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/html/specialty_grocery___gifts.html#village) in the ferry plaza.

Is Adidas cruelty-free? I'm also looking for toothpaste and deodorant. I don't like Tom's of Maine's. Although I haven't tried their tooth*paste*, only the gel. Yuck.
I'm also having a hard time finding cruelty-free soap in the grocery/drug stores. And shampoo and conditioner. Those the main products I haven't found easy to find, affordable cruelty-free alternatives for yet.

I'm big on the Jason Powersmile too. My mouth feels cleaner and fresher than with mainstream toothpaste...and the Powersmile mouthwash is sooo good...seems to have great ingredients and it SUPER minty.

:) Believe it or not Herbalife is cruelty free. They have good shampoo and conditioner. I haven't tried their other personal care products. Also they have delicious soy protein powder.
