My sister went to this store this week, and told me about it, and while its terribly expensive, they have all sorts of vegan hair/skin/body care products! All their stuff is vegetarian and 75% of it is vegan (and marked as such). the website is www.lush.com and they have stores all over the world so people seeking vegan body stuff, enjoy!
(Katie bought a shampoo bar and some conditioner and it looks cool and smells really nice, and according to her, works fantastic!)

I ordered from them once, and the stuff was wonderful! It was really expensive to have it shipped to me, though.

I love lush! Almost anything from there is really nice, I especially love the soaps and dusting powders.

Yeah, Lush is wonderful. The staff are always friendly and the shops always have a nice atmosphere, as well as smelling yummy! I'm on their mailing list so they send me the 'Lush Times' every so often.
In the London shop I've visited, they have the soaps in great big slabs behind a counter and you can ask them to cut off as much as you want. They also give you a freebie sample everytime you buy something :) You can also ask them to do a demonstration of the bath bombs, which everyone loves!
I gotta get me some more Lush goodies . . .

I love LUSH! I posted about them a little while back...
Just a few weeks ago, I finally got to go to a store (I've always ordered online), and I was kinda disappointed that ALL the products weren't there. But, then again, it was in NYC and the store was really tiny.
My favorites are the Butterball bath bomb (Avobath too), the Coconut Almond Smoothie shower scrub, and the Skinny Dip shower scrub. I also love the Amazonian massage bar. I still haven't tried a lot of their products, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know!
Their newsletter/catalog is so much fun to read too! I highly recommend signing up to receive it if you order from them...it's more fun than the website!

I love Lush too and I don't think they are actaully that expensive compared to some brands. And it's mostly natural ingredients so it's great.

I am definitely going to order some stuff one of these days. There are several items I'd like to try, and they really aren't that expensive, compared to some of the high quality Origins and Aveda products I occasionally purchase. The shipping is pretty high, though. ^^;;

There are stores here in Japan (Chiba and Yokohama), but I've never been to them. Co-Workers bring me a Bath-Bomb every time they go though - they are nice.

I love lush, we have one here, though i have to say i hate their staff here, they are SO patronising! But the products are great, esspessially the bath bombs and bubble bars ( has anyone tried that one that smells like bubblegum? - i smelt like it for days afterwards) and i love their karma soap. But the one shampoo bar i tried made my hair really dry so i havnt really used them, maybe i should try a different one.
Anyway i am a self confessed lush adict, not only do they make finding vegan bath things easy but they are the best for buying last minute gifts :)

I wonder if I could manage to swing by one of those stores while I'm in Japan? I'll be in Tokyo for four or five days, and in Kyoto for two, I think. Are any of the locations within a reasonable distance of the Sunshine Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro? (That's where I'm staying.) I'll have a rail pass.
Oh, and dvmarie, did you still want to try to meet for coffee at some point?

I went to the Lush store in NYC last week and stocked up on a ton of stuff, I LOVE it. So far my favorite is the pink shampoo bar, I forget what it's called but it's for normal hair and I highly recommend it. I also liked the green Temptation soap, but I only got a small piece and it's already gone. The Skin Drink facial moisturizer is awesome, it's the strongest moisturizer I've ever used. And the Sympathy for Skin body lotion also works REALLY well, and smells so good I want to eat it. Yes, I'm obsessed with Lush! If anyone has any other favorites you think I should try let me know!

I'm very excited to hear this. I'm learning more about animal testing and the horrors of it. I'm now trying to find cruelty-free products. There is a LUSH store near me. I'm going shopping!!!!!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned their massage bars.. those are my favorite products, by far. My skin is kind of funky so I'm not to keen on their fancy soaps (since the exfoliating materials in them make me break out) but the bath bombs rock, as do the bath melts. I need to go to a store eventually.. :(
BTW, I was not even two blocks from the Lush NYC store a little while ago and it opened two days after I left. TWO F'IN DAYS! Bah.

I was shopping around today and came across their store in Georgetown. They had very neat things. I picked up a "sex bomb" as a gift for someone. Thought they were priced on par with other such soapy stores. I give them a thumbs up.

I'll find out what store is closest to you - and get you directions by train.
Yeah - let me know what day (for me weekend is better - but either way, during the week I might could get up there in the early evening after work) - if you want, we can go to the Lush store (I'll be by train too since I'm way to chicken to drive in Tokyo)

Yes, Lush products are very nice. I received a basket of their products over the holiday season, and especially enjoyed the massage bars! ;) It was a little odd to see expiration dates on the items though. I was told to keep some of the stuff in the refrigerator. Anyway, nice, but a bit pricey.

Ooooh. They have a store in Boston. I'll have to go check it out one of these days. I've never tried their stuff, but if I don't have to pay for the shipping, it sounds like a deal to me.
