My grocery store just started supplying this. I've never seen it before, so I assume that its a new flavour.

It has a pretty powerful vanilla taste, as compared to the regular vanilla soymilk. I like it alot.

And heres the best part: It says "100% Vegan- The ingredients (including vitamins and minerals) in all Silk varieties DO NOT contain animal products."

That's great, hope it shows up here soon.

You know...off topic...but I just recently tried silk's yoggurt. I'd tried soy yoggurt in the past because my daughter loves regular yoggurt and I wanted her to have an alternative, but it grossed us both out. that was about a year ago. Last week I tried silk yoggurt for the first time and I have to say, it's quite good. Surprisingly so.

I love the regular vanilla silk soymilk for it's smooth taste, particularly for coffee. I tried 8th continent in coffee last week...and bleck.

Will have to give this new product a shot.

I love the very vanilla. It's a tad thicker than the regular but that's good. Better for smoothies. Mmmmmm!

My coworkers wife had breast cancer and underwent surgery last month. She's doing chemo and stuff. Anyhow, she was having a hard time keeping food down and wanting to eat it at all because of the metalic taste. Doc said she needed to get way more protein to build the red blood cells back up. She's lactos intolerant too. So, I found this out and suggest the Very Vanilla. It's got 6 grams of protein per 8 oz I believe and is so ultra healthy for her. She drinks three glasses a day now and she said that if she drinks it right before she eats she has a better time with the food. Her blood count is up since she started too. Yeah for the miracle healer Soy!

Very Vanilla has a lot more sugar than the regular Vanilla flavor.

I prefer vanilla soymilks in general, so I'd probably like it.

I'll look for it when I go to Denver sometime. Sounds good. I like strong vanilla.

That sounds good. The regular one doesn't have a strong enough vanilla flavour for my taste.

I would probabaly not try this if it has a lot of sugar in it.
I try to limit my sugar.

I love it. It makes me actually like soy milk! Its great. I don't think the sugar is anything to worry about really because of the amount of protein and liquid involved.

I've always loved Chocolate Sun Soy the best, but I'll give this a try when I see it.

How so? Not vegan or not vegetarian? What possibly could be meat related in it? lol

EWWW!!! I was just drinking 8th continent, I thtink I'm gonna puke. I feel really sick all the sudden :spew:

Back on topic, even though I'm thoroughly grossed out now, I think Very Vanilla is too sweet. It justs tastes plain nasty to me

I thought that 8th Continent's only animal derived additive was D3, which was derived from lanolin in sheep's wool?

That would make it vegetarian, but not vegan. Right?

i like the taste of very vanilla soymilk but only every now and then. i used it in a recipe for sweet potato pie, when it called for vanilla soymilk, and it made the pie way too sweet. i like the strong vanilla flavor, but it can be a bit too sweet.

Look at your wording. Is an animal derived product vegetarian?

Kind of like asking a vegetarian if they eat fish or chicken..

It still is not available in Buffalo. However, I do get it when I am in Indy and I bring some extra home. It is really good and blows the regular one away and it also has more vitamins added to it.

No, D3 is not vegetarian. Sheeps wool is only one of other animal sources in which it is derived from.

I just bought some the other day, and finally tried it. I like it, but it's still no chocolate sun soy. For some reason Silk (all kinds except for the Nog) has a weird taste to me...I don't know if it's just because of the type of soybeans they use or what, but Sun Soy doesn't have that taste.

I don't understand... don't you differentiate between vegetarian and vegan? Milk is an animal derived product, but vegetarians drink milk. Vegans don't.

How else do you differentiate between vegetarian and vegan?

Its up to your personal preference whether you are opposed to drinking sheep wool. I personally think: If you wear wool, drinking it isnt much different. Personally, drinking hair grosses me out though.

Some people may view comsuming it the same as consuming something like gelitan while others consider it like milk since the animal was not necessarily killed to get the product.

Hmmm...we seem to be hijacking this thread.
