I wasn't sure where to put this, but since it's partially dealing with vegan products, I figured here was good.. if not, please move it to the right place! :)

My godsister just had a baby, but I'm not able to go to BC for the baby shower as I've planned my 2 year Vegan Anniversary Dinner and Anime Night Party for that night, before she had the baby.

My parents are going, and I wanted to make a little "care package" of nice stuff for the baby, as my baby shower gift.

I'm not sure what we have available here, lots of vegan products like Kiss My Face, JASON, etc etc... But I'm looking for baby-friendly suggestions of what I could put in this "baby basket".

I'm vegan and refuse to give non-vegan gifts, but also most vegan stuff is organic which I think is best for babies... so..

Can anyone help? What can you recommend that I put in the basket? :)

I saw an adorable baby hat at Whole Foods Market in the Natural Living section. It had an embroidered carrot on the top and I think it was made out of organic cotton.

That's too bad that you can't go to the shower...

I don't know if you have a little locally-owned toy store near you, but I've got a few near me and they always have wonderful wooden toys. I got a few natural wooden rattle/teether toys for my son when he was tiny and I felt so much better about letting him put that in his mouth instead of plastic toys.

Also, little board books such as Guess How Much I Love You, or Good Night Moon are perfect for a gift basket.

My local co-op carries organic cotton socks - not sure if they come in infant size.

Diaper rash creme is something every new mom needs on hand. Arbonne's is excellent and vegan. I've tried Californial Baby's diaper rash creme and it's not as fast-acting but it still works okay.

You could also include a CD of lullaby music or fun songs for parents to sing to babies. I love those!!

Also, if you can find someone who does infant massage in her area, you could include a gift cert for infant massage training sessions or even a book on infant massage. My mother in law is a certified infant massage therapist and she taught me how to massage my son. It's such a wonderful thing to do with a baby.

Hope that helps! :)
