Does anyone know if there is such a thing as too much fiber in a child's diet? My son is two years old and is completely hooked on a high fiber cereal. Plus, being vegan, he gets plenty more fiber throughout the day. His stools are mushy and usually happen between 2-3 times a day. :flush:

Kids can get too much fiber. The problem can be that vegan foods are very bulky so if kids get a lot of fiber, it may be to the exclusion of the proteins/fats that they need. But if he's eating protein and fat in other meals, then it's fine, and his poops sound perfect :), so I wouldn't worry.

i'd say if he doesn't have diarrhea and cramps, then everything's fine.

i wouldn't worry to much about it, as long as he's not showing signs of feeling sick. My daughter goes through fazes of being hooked on one food all the time which i put down to a type of growth or development she is going through and need a particular nutrient she gets from that food. She spent about 3 weeks eating almost only Strawberries when she was about 12 months. A banana faze a watermelon one.latel;y it's been tomatoes continues all day.
