So I'm scouting for non-leather shoes. I came across the Moo Shoes site, where they have a lot of very attractive women's shoes. Does anyone have any experience with their shoes? The price range for the dress shoes seems to be around $60-120 which "suggests" good quality, although you never know really from the price. Any suggestions in general for non-leather shoe sources (for both casual and dress shoes)?

Actually, delias (delias.com) has a lot of vegan shoes. So does Bakers Shoes (bakersshoes.com). Check them out..

..I usually hit Payless...or Target...or any teenage-type clothing store - Charlotte Russe, Wet Seat...wherever. The shoes in places like that usually arent leather

My wife and I have and enjoy shoes from MooShoes. We bought them in person when we were in NYC last Christmas. I just wore a pair of Novacas today (they're kind of Diesel-y). I don't love, love, love my shoes, but I'm happy to wear shoes that get compliments while staying leather-free, and they're fine. I look forward to an increased selection for men.

As for my wife, she digs hers, and she gets compliments on them, too.

I love mooshoes, as well as veganessentials. All the shoes I've gotten from them have been great quality.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm at a loss as to where I can get a nice pair of vegan dress shoes for my wedding. Although Moo Shoes has really cute shoe choices, none of them are suitable for a wedding dress. I checked Bakers Shoes, and most of them are leather, and not really any wedding type of shoes either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I bought two pairs of very cool casual vegan shoes at Wal-Mart this weekend. One pair was $13, one was $9! Unfortunately, their website doesn't list shoes, or I'd link them.

These (http://www.mooshoes.com/edc-cgi/moostore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=12909) are similar, but are made of a suede-like material.

These (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/313013/c/1654.html) are the most similar I could find to the other pair, which I have deemed the coolest shoes in the world. Mine have grayish soles and are flatter.

Personally, I buy mostly from Payless. Lots of non-leather... including microfiber and canvas, so it doesn't look like cheap fake leather... and inexpensive. I'm a cheapskate with a shoe habit.

The town I live in is against chain stores (seven got in before a law was passed saying no stores with more then eleven stores). Needless to say we have no payless.
I can't stand shoes and didn't even want to get a pair for school (I was barefoot all summer. Wore shoes about 30 times). All the hemp shoes here are expensive and kind of ugly. I ended up getting a pair of Chaco sandals and I LOVE THEM!!! They are expensive but so worth it. They can be sporty, they can be dressy, they can be adventerous. At the moment the only time I can imagine myself wearing a different pair of shoes is during track.

You should check Payless Shoes. They have a line called Dyeables that are basically white satin shoes. They are designed to be dyed, to match a bridesmaid dress, for example, but you could just leave them white (assuming you're wearing white, if not you can have them dyed to match your dress). They have some really cute styles.

Thanks for the info, Jess. I just went to the Dyeables website, and found some cute possible wedding shoes, like these. http://www.dyeables.com/templates/catalog/product_detail.cfm?product_id=40&brand_id=5&product_type_id=1
So Dyeables are typically leather-free? I'll have to have them dyed off white to match my dress. :)

The ones I've seen are leather free. Some of the styles do have leather soles, though, so you might want to check on the spacific style you're interested in.

Becareful about those dyeables they might be silk satin since synthetic fibers tend to be difficult to dye.

Thanks for the warning. I'll have to check for silk. *sigh* This is becoming such a pain. Shoes are usually so easy for me.

i'm getting married too, and finding vegan bride shoes is a pain. virtually all the ones i have found have leather soles. there are a few white/ivory styles at payless right now though, and i may fold and get them though they aren't the shoes of my dreams or anything.

Hi, here are some suggestions that might help. I haven't been looking long, but I found a few.

I think that this one is all synthetic. Paris is Synthetic, but I don't know about the soles. Steve Madden's site doesn't talk about whay the fabric either.

Wow, Cosmo! You are quite the shoe-sleuth. :) I didn't see material info on those chinese laundry ones, are they all vegan? There are a few that are very cool.

www.zappos.com has a section for vegetarian shoes. very cool! I just found them the other day, as I was drooling over the new chuck taylor re-issue "star players." they are RAD.

they have a whole section of "women's dress shoes" that are also vegetarian. GREAT SITE! then you won't have to scrutinize the materials used.

The Chinese Laundry shoes are all man-made. There is an all man-made search option if you go to the we suggest link.

Yeah, Zappo's has a couple of really cute options for shoes. The prices are good, too!
