Hehe...

So I just got back from Trader Joes - one of my favourite stores anyway. I was really craving soup for lunch (and I don't have any of my own left in the freezer) Anyway..I used to get a tomato soup that had milk in - since trying to cut out dairy, I haven't even looked at their soups...but I did today.

Not only do the stock a creamy tomato soup with no milk listed on the ingredients, their own brand butternut squash soup is made creamy with *soymilk* YAY!

So I have soup..vegan cookies...vegan muffins...just found out that one of my favourite breads there is vegan...

I tell you, I was infatuated before, but now I think that me and Trader Joe, we were meant to be :)

Anyone wanna fight me for him? :smitten:

I prefer Wild Oats. Very upset there is not one in Buffalo.

I wish they'd open a Trader Joe's near me. But from the looks of their website, they have no Canadian stores. :(

I love TJ's too, but they're p-ing me off lately with all this low carb crap! I didn't think they'd jump on that bandwagon

Ocean, I just recently tried that sauce! It is really good. It doesn't say it has tvp in the ingredients, just "soy"; so I had no idea of the meaty texture. I thought it was really good.

What exactly is cheaper at Trader Joe's as compared to Wild Oats? Their in house brands? Anyway, Due to Trader's pretty small selection of item's and lack of fresh organic produce, I'll stick with Wild Oat's. BTW, Wild Oat's is cheaper than the stores here in Buffalo in most cases. For example, they sell Luna and Clif bars for .89 each. Here they go for 1.29 to 1.49 a bar. Stuff like that pisses me off.

I love TJ's, too. Whenever I go, I always find something else interesting to try. I like Wild Oats, but they are more expensive around here than the supermarket and TJ's, so I only go there when I need stuff that the other two don't carry.

I'm lucky--I have a TJ's and a Wild Oats in close proximity to one another. My veggie milks are a lot cheaper at TJ's than WO, and I also buy things like frozen veggies, tofu (organic), coconut milk, fruit leather, etc. All that stuff is cheaper there. Their produce selection and overpackaging suck though. Wasn't there another thread like this already? I feel as if I'm repeating myself...

Their tempeh is $1.29 a package. It's double that at other places I've seen (same brand).
I love all their organic frozen veggies, too.

Good lawd are their chocolate-covered pretzels tasty. I've never been as addicted to a snack food as I am to them.

Trader Joes rocks!

I'm not even sure where there is a Wild Oats around here. The cloesest I've seen is about 15 miles away. Trader Joes is only 4 blocks away, so it saves money in gas (since most of the time I don't even need to drive there if my order is light enough)

Right next to where I live (maybe a 10 minute walk) there's a Trader Joe's across the street from a Wild Oats. I get the best of both worlds. :D

I get their frozen stir-fry vegetables regularly. For whatever reason they come out tasting way fresher than anyone else's frozen veggies. :lick:
