Hello,
Lately i have made my progress from Meat Eater to Vegetarian to Vegan now i was thinking of makeing a transtion to fruitarian like one or two days a week of just fruit and then slowly going to an all fruit diet.I have a question though-Does it matter like what combination of fruit you have at certain times like for example i wake up to an Avocado and some rasins? Also what do the fruitarian sites mean by 'raw' nuts like the ones in the grocery store that are in the middle of the produce section or the ones that are packaged?
Thank YOU :cool:

I am a fruitarian. It isn't as hard as it sounds hehe! I usually buy nuts that are in the shell still, that you would buy in the produce section. I also buy fresh nuts from the bins at Whole Foods. I don't really know if you can't eat certain fruits together. I usually eat fruits by themselves. Like, I will have 3 apples for breakfast, or an avocado for lunch. Sometimes I have a giant fruit salad with pineapple, bananas, oranges and the likes. I usually keep sweet fruits together.

This doesn't sound very balanced?

Thank you for your replies
<I also buy fresh nuts from the bins at Whole Foods>
Is that like the onces you have to scoop out and measure yourself?? Kinda confused LOL
<I don't really know if you can't eat certain fruits together>
Reason i ask is on the Fruitarian Foundation site they tell you what to eat at certain times like in the morning Glass of Water and Lemon or Dried Grapes and like at anytime as long as it has been 90min-2hours you can have as much of this certain fruit werid but i dont know LOL!.
Thanks again

I was just using the apple/avocado thing as an example. I eat a LOT more than that! Yesterday I had a pound of strawberries for lunch, I snacked on nuts throughout the day inbetween meals (until I broke the nut cracker...), I had a large fruit salad, and I had some avocados/tomatoes chopped up and sprinkled with sea salt and dill. Today, I had some wild rice, a pound of fresh pineapple, and some fresh nuts. At Whole Foods, they have bins that you can scoop the nuts out of. These nuts have already been taken out of the shell. I also buy nuts that are still in the shell at Kroger. They sell them for like .99 cents a pound.
There are many, many ways to get protien as a fruitarian. Here is a list of some fruits/nuts that contain protien.
Peanuts (raw) – Peanuts have 26% of protein;
Almonds - their proteins have a high biological value and some nutritionists say they are an excellent substitute for meat; Almonds have 19 %of protein;
Walnuts – contain 18,5 % of protein;
Brazil nut – this nut is very valuable and recognised has complete; Brazil Nuts have 17% of protein;
Coconut - is an excellent and complete food; Coconut has 6% of protein;
Cashew and chestnuts – have 3% of protein;
The following fruits are also rich in proteins:
Dates – 2,5 % of protein;
Avocado – 2.5% of protein;
Grapes – 1,5% of protein;
Figs - 1,5% of protein;

Wild rice? It isn't raw unless you soak it.

Wild rice? It isn't raw unless you soak it.
It usually isn't raw even then. It has been steamed at high temps (that's why when you soak it it won't sprout- it "splits")

...and would rice be counted as fruit/nut/seed? just curious.
as to the opening post, the only thing i've heard is that you shouldn't eat melon with any other food. ever. no one's told me why, but everyone who's mentioned it to me has been pretty adamant.

Before you transition to an all fruit diet, make sure you have the finances to keep it up. In order to get all of the nutrients you need, you have to eat tons of fruit. Fruit is very expensive!

.
Actually, "wild rice" isn't a rice at all, nor is it a grain. It is a marsh grass native to the Great Lakes region and the fruit of it is what we know as "wild rice".
