Hello to all!

Could any of you who do dishes by hand tell me where you buy eco friendly dish towels or sponges? I am not against using cloth or hemp when washing dishes. I am, however, against using a plain old sponge from x-mart for a month then throwing it away.

Thanks.....

Why not just buy a package of cloth dish towels from the dollar store?

Ew - sponges are so very unsanitary anyway. Yuck.

I make dishtowels from retired bath towels (just over-cast sew the edges) - I usually cut each towel in sixths. I wash them in the machine - and they last a good long time. Only time I toss them is when I have some bath towels that are no soft and fluffy.

Factory Labor for one! :p

I get my placemats and dish towels from Green Mountain Linens. (http://www.greenmountainlinens.com/) They're made in Vermont from cotton. Antiwalmartism at its finest. :smoke:

This is a link to the dish towels. (http://owgd2.onewebgroup.net/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=DT0&Store_Code=gml)

I know my mother got me some bath towels too, but I can't find them on their website and I'm not sure why! They're absolutely fantastic though.
