View Full Version : Success Convincing Principal

Out of a recent poll at my school, only 10 people out of about 1600 kids were ve*an. I contacted the other 9 and asked them to help me in a vegan bake sale to donate money to the local animal shelter. It's a small place, but in need of some remodeling. All 9 of them refused because they "arent really vegetarian" they just dont eat red meat.
So out of 1600 kids, I'm alone (aside from the many many college kids around here who are veg*an)
Despite the lack of helpers, I e-mailed the principal this morning about my idea. He forwarded it to other people who would need to know about it (like the guy in charge of fundraising). Within 30 minutes I had 11 e-mails in my inbox saying that not only had the idea been approved, but e-mails from teachers who said they supported me and it was good to finally get someone in the school to take charge.
I feel very accomplished right about now. :smitten:

Good job. :)
You gotta admire the logic of those 9 though... Just because they're not completely veg*n, they refuse to do some good for animals at a shelter? :stinkeye:
Also, I'm highly surprised that you're the only veg*n out of 1600 kids. You'd find more veg*ns among 1600 adults, and kids are supposed to have a higher percentage of us!

There are a lot in the town because the local college is like a hippie school and so most kids there are veg*ans, but at the high school I guess if there are any more there they just wont admit it (which i dont see why, beacuse im proud...) but oh well 'tis their decision :bobo: (<----thats cute)

Congratulations! That's awesome for you to do something like that for the local animal shelter. I'm sure they will be very pleased and thankful for your effort and kindness.

That's really great!
As part of my sister's HS curriculum, they were required to do community service. Assisting at an animal shelter was an option. If anybody's HS has a similar requirement, that would be a great thing to suggest if it's not already in place. :)
