I'm a very new vegan, about a month in. I'm doing great but still learning every day. I'm pretty passionate about cruelty free and am ridding myself of all offending products. I do have one problem. I can not even bring myself to check the ingrediants of my proactive treatment. I'm sure if I do I will have to give it up, or continue to use it and be a hypocryte.
I have suffered from terrible acne since I turned 20, I have tried many things and proactive works for me...my skin is finally normal. I don't know that I could go back to my skin before. I couldnt even make eye contact w/ people before and I would always hide behind my hair. Does anyone know of any miricle vegan acne treatments that could even compare to proactive?
Thanx for all the help, Just reading these threads has been such a great help already!

Toothpaste on pimples at night, every night works. You notice them going away after like 2 days..
But im not too sure about Vegan products..

The toothpaste thing works, but if you have extensive acne, like it sounds, you may need to stick with the current treatment you are doing.
Maybe get together with your doctor and see if there are alternatives for you.

I know Arbonne has some products for acne treatment. You could check that out.
There are also some on the vegan online stores, but I don't know how well they work or if it's best for your skin.
Good luck. Do what you feel is best. I think it would be better for you to check, find out that it doesn't have any animal products (yay!), or to check and then if it does have animal products, notify the company of your displeasure. Maybe they will have some suggestions for you.

I know Arbonne is pretty good. I've only heard positive things about it. And I think someone on VB sells it (SallyK?) so they might know better than me.
Ok, that wasn't very helpful :D

lol, that was all very helpfull. When I get some more money and a little courage I will have to start experimenting. I checked this morning and it does in fact have many animal products. But if anyone has sufferd w/ acne and has tried something they found to work please let me know! Still, Im hoping that maybe the vegan diat it self will keep my skin clear.
Thanx so much!

I thought I heard someone mention me... hehe!
Hi Joyfulgirl. Congrats on going vegan! I have had trouble with my skin for years and years.
You can browse my website:
www.crueltyfreeskincare.myarbonne.com for the acne line or the oil free line, depending on your skin type. I have clients who have had huge improvements on both lines. I prefer the oil free now that my skin is pretty much cleared up. All the products come with a 45 day money back guarantee.
For now, I would just use up what you have since that's working for you. There's no reason to waste anyway.
Once you are ready, I would be happy to help.
:)
Thanks!!

Proactiv contains no animal ingredients and isn't tested on animals. If it's working for you, you don't need to feel bad about continuing to use it.
From their website
Does Proactiv® Solution contain any ingredients made with animal products?
No animal by-products are used. Proactiv® Solution acne treatment products are not tested on animals.

Wow, thank you. I could have sworn that Allantoin, glycol, glyceryl stesrate, was on the list I got from Peta. I was confusing it with all the glyerides& glycerins that are on the list. Allantoin actually is but also say's it can come from plants. Too many ingrediants sound a like.
Im so happy I don't have to think about that anymore.
Well thanx again!
