okay, almost out of my Olay (ie P&G) cleanser and am looking for a new (animal testing free) cleanser and would appreciate any help/input.
my skin is sensitive and also, because of the winter cold, quite dry. also.. if it could not cost too much that'd be cool.
thanks so much!

I have one, but it might be considered expensive: Avalon Organics Facial Cleansing Milk (CO Q10) It's very gentle and creamy (moisturizing, non-drying).
Good luck!

Try Eucerin and Cetaphil. Not tested, but not vegan.

I love Clinique :smitten: It's more expensive then regular stuff, but great for dry/sensitive skin! It's the only kind I use.

I also use Cetaphil - it's pretty much the only thing my skin can tolerate on a regular basis.

I'm currently using St. Ives Clear Pore Cleanser. It has tea tree oil and is very mild. It's inexpensive and not tested on animals, but I'm not sure if it's vegan. I sent an e-mail inquiry to the company about it yesterday but haven't heard back yet. I suppose I should have checked before I bought it...

Arbonne's cleansing lotion is completely vegan & not tested on animals. It's perfect for sensitive skin and is $15 for 3.25 oz. If you have questions on it, pm me or visit my website. There's a 45 day money back return policy as well. I love it! :smitten:

I e-mailed Cetaphil and asked if they test on animals and this is hat they sent back::
Galderma Laboratories markets dermatological products. As a responsible member of the pharmaceutical industry, Galderma Laboratories strives to minimize the use of animals in evaluating potential new products. We agree that the use of animals in pharmaceutical research is not ideal and we are just as anxious as you to find suitable alternatives. Our firm is heavily investing in new procedures and in-vitro models to replace the small amount of animal testing that we must do now.
Our products undergo the minimum animal testing required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to substantiate product safety and efficacy. ( Taken from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Internet site (www.fda.gov). These tests are necessary to ensure that new drugs are not teratogenic (causing birth defects), toxic or carcinogenic.
Currently, the only undisputed methods recognized by the scientific community require the use of animal models.
Thank you for your inquiry concerning our products.

I'm mad, I emailed Clinique to ask if any of their products are vegan and they never emailed me back! They only sent me a thing saying they recieved my email and would get back to me, which they didn't. Anyone else want to harass them for an answer?

I use the Avalon liquid cleanser for sensitive skin. It's perfect! The cleansing milk was a little too moisturizing for me, but if you are especially dry it would be good.

Burt's Bees. They make a lot of natural skincare products. Some contain honey, and some are 99% natural, whatever that means. But they also are eco-friendly with things like packaging and waste, which is nice.
Alos, they are very inexpensive, I think. Plus they make some nice sample kits so you can try out their stuff.

to keep from drying out i just scrub with a wet cloth every day and then moisturize, and twice a week or so i'll use a cleanser. using any cleanser every day makes me break out especially in the winter. right now i'm using Jason cosmetics ester-c citrus 6 in 1 "Scrubble" facial wash&scrub
it's vegan and not tested and was only $6.99 at Nutrition House. they also had a similar one that was apricot for a dollar less but i liked the smell of this one better. you can use it as a mask but i find when i do leave it on it turns my skin red for a little while after i rinse. it feels fine and doesn't dry out too much but it's red lol. it goes away fairly quick though, but i generally don't have sensitive skin so i don't know what it'd do to someone who does.
but if i just use it as a cleanser/exfoliater it's fine. i still have to moisturize after, i always do in winter, but it doesn't dry me out as much as other things.
i got major deja vu posting this so i may have mentioned it in another thread, if so sorry :o

I love the Burt's Bees Tomato Toner, cheap, cruelty free, and available at lots of stores. (The Lettuce toner is good too.) Plus, I get a kick of smelling vaugely like tomato :)

I was just at Trader Joe's and they have a new line of skin care products--face wash, toner and face moisturizer--all inexpensive. They didn't have a no-cruelty label on them so I asked the store manager, and he said all the Trader Joe's skin care products have no animal ingredients and aren't tested on animals unless it says so one the label. Kind of the opposite of how it is with other companies! Yay!

I like St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It's more of a body wash but I use it on my face. Cruelty Free, not vegan.

I like Aveda All Sensitive line, they are cruelty free. I fairly certain this line is vegan, although I'm not entirely sure. I'll double check and come back later.
Clinique, most of thier moisturizers, cream based cleansers and make up is not vegan.(Lanolin, glycerin of dubious origins) are not vegan. The bar soap might be vegan, I can't remember off the top of my head. I had a friend who worked for them. They do not test thier products on animals however.

Ooh.. Aveda. I love all their products.. especially the Mint Shampoo. The only downside is that it's expensive. It's worth it though.

i use dermalogica's special cleanser. besides being vegan it is also soap-free. i have sensitive skin when it comes to soaps and i really like this. it lathers nicely and my skin feels incredibly soft after using it. i even use it to shave my face too.
dermalogica also does 'face mapping' where you can go in to a salon and they do tell you which products would be best for you. it was quite interesting because they tell you about the different zones on your face and to which parts of your body they correspond.

I've tried using Origins "cheeks and balances" cleanser... I was hoping it would work out. sadly, it gave me a lot of little red bumps on my face. I didn't know if i just had to get used to it.. but after 2 weeks my face said "no dice sister!!"
so i caved in and got some neutrogena stuff that really works well. not ideal.. but now i'm getting ready to try something new again. i'm leaning towards aveda this time. maybe they'll give me a sample or something to try otu first..

I use Cetaphil (the fragrance free version) - it's quite gentle and moisturizing, and they don't test :)
