Original Field Roast (100% vegan)

I've never really care for veggie "cold cuts", but upon someone's recommendation here on VB a while ago, I finally decided to pick up some of this stuff in smoked tomato flavor. For breakfast today, I made a bagel sandwich with lettuce, tomato, 2 slices of field roast, veganaise and dijon. I have to say it was quite good. I'm impressed! I made the same sandwich for my 9 year old daughter's lunch today so hopefully she will like it too.

yes, i have never herad of such items. i ahve yves ham slices but personaly i think they taste liek ****.

I just tried the mushroom variety today and that is really good too. This time I found it in the deli section at Whole Foods. Yea, at whatever store you might find it, Field Roast is not put next to all the other veggie meats in the refrigerated section, but with the deli foods.

i bought this stuff without realizing that it doesnt have an expiration date, which scares me....

so it sat in my fridge until i threw it away

Cool - I'm going to have to try these out. I have been missing my lunch "meat"
sandwiches, since I have become a vegetarian.

My DH still eats meat, he went and bought some salsa flavored turkey at the HEB deli, and eats it right in front of me. UGH- it really ticks me off!

Since i'm new to all these foods, it is so gr-8 that I can come to a place and see what others have tried before I go to the store!
