I've seen the Trader Joe's brand of soyannaise, and was wondering if it was any good. Has anyone tried it? Comments?

I know about vegenaise, but TJ's brand is quite a bit cheaper. Just curious. Thanks. :)

To me, it has too much of a vinegar taste. But it is good for potato salad :)

It's pretty good, kind of a cross between Veganaise and Nayonaise.

I did not like it. It seemed almost gelatinous rather than creamy and was too vinegary for me. I much prefer Veganaise which tastes much more like I remember mayo, plus I think is has fewer ingredients than the Trader Joe's, which is important to me.

Can anyone give the caloric breakdown on this stuff? Like, nayonaise has two calories or something, and tastes it. Veganaise, meanwhile has lots of yummy fat. Where does TJ Brand fall?

Thanks for the replies. I ended up going to TJ's today for some other items, and decided to try a jar of the soyannaise. Muzicfan wasn't kidding about the vinegar. Very strong! Really didn't care for it, but I'll finish the jar I have in potato salad type things where you can't taste it as much. Vegenaise is still tops with me, and I find it to be creamier. Oh well, at least I tried it! :)

:) yea, I didnt mind it with the potato salad, cause I had to add vinegar to my recipie. So I just used this TJ brand, and excluded the vinegar, and it came out fine. I just never would use it as a spread.

I like it.
It tastes like a cross-between mayo and miracle whip.
The thing is, after several months, it will partially de-emulsify.

Trader Joe's is not carried where I live. Nayonaise tastes like Miracle Whip to me so I am looking for something different. I like Veganese a lot but it tastes like cream cheese, not mayonaise.

No need to start a new thread, since this is similar - today I saw "miso mayo." Has anyone tried it? Is it any good? I was too frightened to get it!
