Where/what's a recipe for it?

A recipe for it is... upstairs in my cookbook.
If I remember correctly its...
1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks), softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp anise extract
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
6 cups flour
1 cup chopped almonds (or whole if you like 'em that way)
Chocolate chips of choice for dipping (optional)

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Add extracts, salt and baking powder and mix in thoroughly. Incorporate almonds. Add flour gradually. The dough will be sticky. Divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a log, then flatten the middle and taper down the edges. Bake them 2 to a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They'll be a little cracked on top, and I usually cut one in half to see if its cooked all the way through. Then cut them into 1 inch slices and turn them onto their sides and stick back in the oven for 7-10 minutes, flip them, bake another 7-10 minutes, take 'em out. Then you wait until they're cool, melt the chocolate chips (i do some in milk chocolate and some in dark chocolate) and dip half the cookie (i do lengthwise, you could dip any part you like) in chocolate and set it on wax paper to harden, or stick it in the fridge if you're impatient. Mmm.. biscotti...

(that was all from memory... i believe its accurate though)

I've also made peanut butter biscotti, hazelnut biscotti, dried cherry and chocolate biscotti, chocolate chocolate chip biscotti... the possibilities are endless once you get the hang of the base recipe... which is obviously almond biscotti. I want to try to make some macadamia nut biscotti dipped in white chocolate...

I did make vegan biscotti once for my secret cupid, and it toasted way faster than normal biscotti did, so I dont know if that was the earth balance or the egg replacer or the raw sugar... but it is veganable.

Erggg me too.
Including going out to dinner with a bunch of people from my old job to a restaurant where the only thing on the menu I can eat is a house salad.
I'd say that the company is nice, but dammit, I get out of work at 8, go right over there (they're meeting at 7:30) and I'm gonna be wicked hungry.

I think I might have to, but it will probably be deep fried in lard.

hmmm... :afro:

I thought for sure this would be a good adoption day, with people supposedly coming to see both of my dogs, but no one showed up. So, stuck with my dogs I am.

Crackers and Chocolate is a meal, isn't it?

i dunno but earlier i had a snack of generic brand ritz wannabe crackers and wannabe nutella chocolate hazelnut spread (found vegan brands of each). they go surprisingly well together. i'm all out of the spread now though, licked the jar clean i did

spent a couple hours cleaning the kitchen of the new place. i did the kitchen, boyfriend did the bathroom. guh! nasty. my hands STILL feel and smell greasy. didn't even quite finish, have to get something to clean the oven and need to bring steel wool to scrub the element traps from the stove. so gross *shudder*
what's good for cleaning ovens but not harsh like oven cleaner always is? i was thinking about getting those mr. clean erasers cause someone at work said they work well but i'm sure they probably do animal testing
maybe i can find some natural stuff at the health food store tomorrow.

trying to get the pen, pencil, crayon, etc scribbles off the kitchen walls, not happening. we scrubbed so hard in one spot that there's a pink patch almost the size of my hand where we scrubbed off paint. the walls are yellow but were pink before apparantly. mental note: cleansers that say are safe to use on paint... strip paint. i took a fair bit off the cupboards as well getting the grease and fingerprints off. luckily they were the same colour all the way through so it doesn't show unless they catch the light just so. after we're moved in and settled and the job situation gets better, we're hoping we'll be able to afford to repaint and redecorate a little. the pink curtains held up with clothes pins just aren't doing it for me

My friend recommended some stuff to me called "Goo Gone" to get gum off my jacket, and when I checked into it, it's supposed to be good for removing smudges and crayon marks, too. I have to check further to see if it's animal tested before I buy it, though.

I don't even know if it's available in your area, but it might be a possibility.

Why do I read the Relationships and Family forum if I don’t want one?

I don’t believe it! Instead of just being Alpaca and hanging around the ‘fun’ threads, I posted some serious stuff for once!

If you aren't vegan get a bunch of Mr Clean Magic Erasers. They get everything clean.. marks on walls, ovens, grease.. etc etc. They kick ass. :)

I worked 10pm-8am last night. Slept 4 whopping hours today. Have to work 10pm-8am tonight, write a speech, write an outline for my next speech, then go to class from 11-noon tomorrow (giving the aforementioned speech), and then have to work again tomorrow night at 10pm. I hope I get some sleep at some point. :-/
