Hi hamsters!
Today I went to Pilates (90 mins) and walked for just over an hour. Nothing else, though. But I did buy new tap shoes, which will allow for much future hamstering. :D
I also got a digital camera, so I'm hoping to take pictures on some of my walks and post them. They won't be as pretty as what you all post since I'm in the middle of a big smoggy city, but it'll give me something to do. :) For now you can see a couple of my test runs with the camera. The rest of the pictures I took tonight were of my friends, and I don't post other people, so you're stuck with pictures taken by me of me. Lucky you.

Not that it matters much, but your [Trial(1)] pic is your best posture I think (without the flash).. except of course you do have that divider in the mirror panel in each the pics, which divides the image of you but ok, they are only demo's. :)
You like photography don't you, so I hope your new camera provides you with
the results you desire so that you can relay as you say the city walk routes
which you go on to exercise! :)
Please tell us the make and model of your new camera please, so we can know how good we can get with that particular type/grade of camera etc.

i don't like how it's like, negative a billion degrees out lately, it sure cuts into my walking :brood: and i don't think the gym's open on sunday. and there's no room in my living room anymore to set up ddr :p
but that's no excuse! i'm going to clean my room i think -- not only is that a heck of a workout because i'm a slob, i always clear out the place so that i have room to exercise up there and have no excuses anymore :)
anyone know anything about/have any experience with t-tapp exercises? i've been hearing a lot about it lately, and wanted to know if it was as good as it's hyped up to be.

Okay, I'm officially 'off my ass'. I've been rather well...lazy for the past few months and I can no longer stand my own sedentary self. I'm starting to jog during the week again like I did before. and also, today I'm jogging while my daughter goes to her church fellowship this evening. I'm also going to be getting us out during the winter months to do mroe outside and less inside.
So, I'm going to be posting here again. I need accountability to get myself off the ground.
Thanks all.

Oh-Oh!..Budda's gota a boo-boo :-/ During my run yesterday I noticed my right leg hurting. By the time I was done I couldnt put much wieght on it. Everything hurt between the ankle and above my knee. I put some stuff on it BUT this morning my knee is stiff, swollen and it HURTS! Im hoping its just some stress related thing,I have been puting up some big mileage and good times. For me anyway. So Ill work on wieghts and crunches and try to take today and tomorrow off from running. I got karate class Monday, that will be a game time decision.
Everybody's doing GREAT!
Mskedi..Your pictures are GREAT,your BEAUTIFUL
bethanie...GREAT to see you!

Ugh, I'm sorry, Budda... sounds painful. :-/ Take it easy the next few days...
I did a 2 H 20 min walk today.... stopped a few times (no more than 10 min in total), though, once to lift a worm off the road with a stick (yah, I should just leave it there, food for birds, etc.... but I just did it anyway), the second time to stop to say hi to some horses that were grazing on a field.. such beautiful animals, a few times to watch birds, and lastly, I stopped at least a few times to pet a lovely black and white cat. It jumped up on my lap, really cuddly :)
Today I went in the opposite direction compared with last Sunday's big walk. Last time I walked towards civilization, this time I turned left when I reached the main road, a few minute's walk from home, towards a less populated part of the island. I just followed the main road, that got pretty narrow after a while, for 6 km or so, and then turned and walked home.
A nice walk, but the weather wasn't that nice.. rainy (no more than a drizzle, though), cold and grey.. and I had a pretty strong wind against me while I was walkin home.
Great work, hamsters !
..oh and Mskedi, nice pics. Middle of big smoggy city sounds pretty exotic to me on my island of rocks, limp yellow grass and soggy moss :)
Dazzle me with urbanity, please

Hey everyone!
Right, so I haven't done crap in a while, but I sincerely intend to get off my ass!!
My knees have been bothering me a lot; thats no excuse to do nothing, but it makes it less motivating....
I hope your injury feels better Budda!
Mskedi, you are so pretty! :D

(((Budda))) Sorry about the injury. Get better soon!
Today I rode my bike 13 miles.
Azalea, what a nice walk!

Mskedi is purdy!
I haven't done anything since Thursday. My weekends are so busy that I rarely have time. Cleaning, laundry, errands, unfinished projects, etc. I ordered some of those earbag things and got a small shoulder bag for my cell phone and keys, so I'm set to walk Filo in the cold wind.
ETA: A fanny pack would have been logical, but I hate those things!

Hamsters,
I only did a 4 mile run today. It warmed up quite a bit to around 37 degrees...so my running buddy wanted to go for a run with me. We usually only run 3 or 3.5 miles, she said she would do 4 with me but she couldn't do 5. So it was either run by myself or run with my friend and catch up on things :D
So here is my plan for this week:
Mon power walk w/weights 40-60 min/crunches
Tues 3 mile run
Wed power walk w/ weights 40-60 min/crunches
Thur 3 mile run
Fri 45-60 min bike ride/crunches
Sat off
Sun 5 mile run
Mskedi, New stuff! How fun, I love taking pictures...nice pics! Great Hamstering. :vebo:
VegAnaconda :hi:
Mayuko, I know what you mean about the negative temps, it’s a drag, so much harder to get motivated. Just do what you can till it warms up
bethanie!!!!! So good to see you again! Welcome back!!
SCF sounds like you’re doing some great Hamstering! Great going!
@Raeven, nice to see you too, sounds like you’ve been keeping up, good luck on your training, I hope to do a marathon in late May…but my backup plan is a half in May and a full in Sept.
Cissy, great on the yoga and I’m pretty sure because of all the walking involved we determined that shopping counts :D
webbum, Great work dude.
budda, I sure hope everything is OK…take care man.
Azalea, Great walk! Sounds like a beautiful place…pics, we want pics…I can probably post some city pics too if you would like to see Milwaukee or Chicago.
Rainbowmoon, did you ever get new shoes? Umm if your knees really hurts it is an excuse not to do anything strenuous to your knees…but yes, there are other things you could do.
Christy, I prefer the shoulder bags too, hope you can find some time.
Great job everyone! Let’s have a great week!!! :vebo: :hamster:

You know what, I'm a really lousy exerciser. Thats the bottom line. I've tried to do aerobic type stuff and it makes me feel like vomiting and gives me a blinding headache (which only adds to the vomit thing). Right now I'm doing about 10 minutes of weights a day, which doesn't make me want to hurl, but I need to do something cardio that isn't going to make me want to barf... or break out into hives. I have exercise induced hives. My doctor had a name for this, and told me to take antihystamines before exercising, but as if I'm not about to fall asleep at the end of the day anyway. Y'know?
So really, i guess I need some sort of encouragement, and any suggestions of exercise that might not make me want to barf... cause thats not the point, I don't think.
On the positive, my arms are toning up :)

I've never heard of exercise induced hives, but it sounds horrible. Perhaps you could try some speed yoga or pilates?
Great job everyone!! You all are amazing, I wish my workouts could be as interesting as some of yours!
Budda- ouch! I would definately take some time off from running, as much as it may wreck your rhythm and everything. You don't want to push yourself and end up taking off three weeks b/c of something that could have healed in three days (speaking from experience )
I got back to the gym today for the second day in a row. Horray, maybe I can get back on track, except for the fact that finals are coming up next week so this one will surely be hell. I hope the weather stays nice like it was today, perhaps I could get back running again.

today i worked (= running around and lifting things), and i cleaned, and i'm going to go clear out some room to play ddr and work off some of this caffeine-induced energy! probably do that for a half hour to an hour, then do some toning exercises before bed time...
and the temperature took a sudden lift, so i can walk tomorrow! :hamster: (and perhaps skip my first block class and go to yoga in the morning *cough*)

16 mile run this morning in beautiful 75 degree weather. I have another half marathon coming up next weekend.
Slynny, I'm back. Thanks of thinking of me (in last weeks thread). :) I've been having a problem with one of my foot joints and I was unable to run for most of the week. Todays run went great though, no pain. Now its a little sore though, so I'm hoping it will go away as this week is a light running week for me. Nice run today, btw. :)
Mayuko, good luck with ddr! That game is tons of fun.
Soycreamfilling, nice sprinting!
Rabid_child, how bout trying things that don't seem to exercisery such as hiking or maybe riding your bike somewhere? Going on long walks is good exercise too.
Christy, I hope you are enjoying your time off from hamstering! :)
Way to go on the biking Sky! Well on your way to reaching your goal for this year!
RBM, I hope your knees feel better soon.
Azalea, GREAT walking! :vebo:
Yikes Budda, rest up and I hope you feel better soon!
Nice hamstering webbum!
Cissy, I agree! Shopping counts! Great work.
Raven, ooh a triathlon! Those are fun. Nice work last week!
Nice to see you back bethanie!
Really nice pics Mskedi!
Lets have an awsome week hamsters!

i second that! that's where a lot of my exercise comes from -- people say i'm crazy for walking to school in the mornings, i say it's a mile or more hike in beautiful scenery -- what better way to start the day? :)

I've tried that, but the hives thing.. I've ended up various distances from home with my legs broken out so bad that its brought me to tears from pain/itchy. Thats why I'd rather do not travelling type exercise because I end up stuck. I don't have a bike...

Wow! This is a great start to the week -- so many hamsters!! :)
Budda -- I hope your knee feels better soon!
mayuko -- never heard of t-tapp. And cleaning counts for something. :)
bethanie -- glad you're back
soycream -- great hamstering. good luck on the exams!
raeven -- fab running!
Azalea -- you get to see horses on your walks?! I am so deprived...
Cissy -- yay on the yoga & shopping.
rbm -- ack -- bad knees are scary! I hope you're okay! Don't overdo anything.
sky -- you are a biking machine!
christy -- I hear you on the busy weekends...
slynny -- four miles is great!! don't say only :p
rabidchild -- yikes. sounds stressful. Maybe if you did exercises that didn't feel like exercise -- like playing a sport with some friends, or going out dancing... I dunno. Ack, just read on.. I guess that doesn't help.
CaptainSwab -- 16 miles! woo-hoo!
For me -- I walked just over an hour, did my upper body weights, and stretched a little. Nothing too exciting. But I brough my camera with me and took a picture of my favorite building that's on my beach run route (which I've been walking lately). It's an apartment building that looks like a castle (kinda) and is called Gaytonia. I love it. There's a space for rent... it's so tempting. :D
